URGENT ‼️‼️‼️
We are urgently looking for an O+ blood donor in Tagbilaran or nearby areas to help my father-in-law who is currently confined in the hospital for his operation this afternoon. We are willing to provide compensation for your generosity.
I’m happy to share that our paper is now published in the Journal of Applied Research in Higher Education. This is my first paper with my project team at the UHM Center on Disability Studies (CDS), and also my first publication using qualitative methods.
The course also laid the groundwork for my dissertation. I proposed an exploratory sequential mixed methods study to develop the Filipino Academic Perfectionism Scale for university students.
I had the rare opportunity to be mentored by Dr. John W Creswell, world-renowned scholar and pioneer of Mixed Methods Research. This experience is a dream come true for me as an early-career researcher.
In this course, Dr. Creswell shared the latest developments in mixed methods research that have yet to appear in textbooks. He focused on advances in data integration, especially creating joint display tables and drawing metainferences from both QUAL and QUAN findings.
I was introduced by Dr. Im, graduate chair of our department. One reason I chose UHM is her expertise in psychometrics. I’m grateful for her never-ending support.
Last week, I had the opportunity to present my ongoing psychometric study at the Graduate Student Research Symposium organized by the University of Hawaii Manoa’s College of Education.

I had the opportunity to attend a two-day workshop on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling, led by the world-renowned statistician Dr. Joseph Hair.
Meeting him was a dream come true. Dr. Hair currently has over 500,000 citations on Google Scholar.

Results revealed that those who strived for high standards tended to engage in better preparation. In contrast, individuals who were excessively worried about criticism were more likely to avoid thinking about the upcoming exam and prepare less effectively.

@stillswimming You can start by looking for professors whose research interest aligns with yours. Then, send an initial email to ask if they are looking for a graduate research assistant. All the best!
Congratulations again to all who passed the 2024 RPm and RPsy BE 👏
