Arizonans who work outdoors in triple-digit heat deserve our protection— that’s why I’ve introduced House Bill 2708. ☀️
With 150+ days of extreme heat in our state annually, this legislation ensures worker access to:
⏺ water, 💧
⏺ shade, ☂ &
⏺ cool-down rest periods. 😰
Instead of investing in the 95% of kids in AZ public schools, S.B. 1452:
❌ diverts $ from public school teacher pay to fund private schools, &
❌ violates the 1.4 million voters who said NO to Empowerment Scholarship Accounts expansion in ‘18.
Enough is enough, @AZHouseGOP.
This is good news but, frankly, I’m not going to pat the Governor on the back for doing what he was supposed to do in the first place.
The Governor & the Arizona Department of Health Services is *still* holding onto $300M in federal $ meant for testing & vaccination. (2/2)
After a roller coaster 24 hours, Governor Doug Ducey has finally agreed to give Pima County the resources we need to continue COVID-19 prevention.
As such, we are receiving:
⏺ $14 million from federal relief for continued testing.
⏺ 4,000 more vaccine doses next week. (1/2)
Maybe today is the day we'll hear an eviction prevention plan for Arizona as we barrel toward the Dec 31 expiration of the CDC moratorium. We'll find out from @dougducey at 2p.
December is now the highest month on record with 100,000 cases of #COVID19. Will Gov @dougducey annonce anything to slow that down?
Thousands of Arizonans will be evicted in the coming weeks. Will Gov @dougducey annonce anything to protect them?
Reality: @dougducey’s support of a harmful proposal to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census is fiscally irresponsible. $20.5 billion came into our state last year based on 2010 Census data— we can’t jeopardize this funding, we must all be counted!
Arizona's obsession with handing out tax credits to corporations and the wealthiest cost our state $453 million last year alone. I'm glad my colleagues opened their eyes to see the train wreck ahead. S.B. 1485 is a step forward-- now let's review every tax credit one-by-one.
Today the team from @AZPipeTrades469 fed us lunch at the Capitol. @AndresCanoAZ and I had a wonderful conversation with some of the awesome apprentices. #UnionStrong
