What an incredible afternoon celebrating with friends and neighbors at the Bangladeshi American Cultural Festival in Hatfield!
For generations, Hatfield’s Bangladeshi American community has helped shape the character and strength of our region through its culture, accomplishments, generosity, and civic leadership. This festival was a beautiful celebration of that legacy—and of the many ways this community continues to enrich our region.
This year’s theme, “Unity Through Diversity,” captured what makes PA-1 so special: people of different backgrounds coming together, learning from one another, and celebrating community together, side by side.
A heartfelt thank-you to the volunteers, local leaders, and everyone whose hard work made this wonderful celebration possible.
Great night celebrating Liberia’s 179th Independence Day with my friends from the United Liberian Association of Bucks County!
In my role as a Chairman on the House Intelligence Committee, I work closely alongside ULAB to strengthen the critical partnership between the US and Liberia—one rooted in shared values of freedom, democracy, and service.
More than 7,000 Liberians call Bucks County home, and for over three decades, ULAB has made an extraordinary difference across our region. From mentoring young people and supporting our seniors, to community initiatives and helping neighbors in need, their service strengthens not only our Liberian American community, but all of Bucks County.
Thank you to Joe Sackor, Alexine Kparh, Isaac Junius, David Gbortoe, and the entire ULAB family for your friendship and leadership, and Happy Independence Day to our incredible PA-1 Liberian community!
The annual Puerto Rican Day Festival in Historic Bristol Borough is one of the most beloved traditions in all of Bucks County—and if you have not experienced it yet, mark your calendar for next August!
Each year, it gets bigger, better, and somehow even more special—bringing together neighbors of every age and background for a day filled with incredible food, music, dancing, laughter, and fellowship. It is community at its very best and a true celebration of the Puerto Rican culture, heritage, and families that have contributed so much to our community and country.
Congratulations and thank you to my friends and team at the Puerto Rican Cultural Association of Bucks County and every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and heart to bring this incredible event to life for our community each year!

Gerard “Jerry” Jonas of Levittown lived a remarkable American story—and everywhere that story took him, Jerry served.
He served his country first. As a United States Marine during the Korean War, he served in combat and earned a battlefield promotion to sergeant. Like so many of his generation, he came home, took off the uniform, and went to work building a better future for his family, community, and the country he loved.
He built that future in Levittown, where he and his beloved Betty raised six children and made their home in Cobalt Ridge a place of faith, laughter, loyalty, and love.
He built it at Queen of the Universe Parish, where he was an original parishioner, coach, volunteer, fundraiser, writer, and steady presence—living his faith not only in words, but in daily acts of responsibility and service.
He built it with his remarkable gift for communication: first helping tell the story of America’s early space and missile programs as a technical writer and editor, then bringing that same curiosity and craftsmanship to advertising, sports promotion, and more than 30 years of beloved columns in the Bucks County Courier Times.
For decades, Jerry helped give Lower Bucks County a voice. He captured its humor, its memory, its people, its pride, and its heart.
And even in retirement, he kept serving. Through Operation Stand Down, Jerry stood with fellow veterans and helped men and women who had worn the uniform find dignity, support, and a path forward.
That is why Jerry Jonas was a true Bucks County legend.
He served his country. He loved his family. He lived his faith. He told our stories. He advocated for our veterans. And he truly left his corner of the world better than he found it.
Please join me in extending prayers to Jerry’s family, friends, and all who loved him, and may we honor his extraordinary life by carrying forward the same faith, patriotism, good humor, loyalty, and servant’s heart that made Jerry Jonas such a gift to Levittown and all of Bucks County.

The story of Langhorne has been written in many places—but for more than three centuries, some of its most cherished chapters unfolded around the tables of the Langhorne Hotel.
Since 1704, this historic inn has stood at the heart of the Borough. And since 1972, the Asta family has preserved its character while filling laughter, friendship, celebration, and a genuine sense of community.
As the Langhorne Hotel closes this chapter, I was honored to help celebrate this legacy and the extraordinary family and team of staff members who over the past several decades helped create such a special place where generations of PA-1 neighbors walked out feeling a little more connected to one another.

🚨 Today, the House took an important bipartisan step toward restoring trust in public service.
For years, I have worked across the aisle to strengthen ethics standards and advance a principle that should never be controversial: public office is a public trust—not a pathway to personal profit.
Passage of the Stop Insider Trading Act is a meaningful victory for the American people. It moves us closer to a government where elected officials are accountable to those they serve—not their investment portfolios. I urge the Senate to act without delay and send this reform to the President’s desk.
But we can—and must—go further.
My bipartisan Public Service Accountability Act, introduced with @RepGoodlander, would establish one clear ethics standard across Congress, the Executive Branch, and the Federal Judiciary.
The American people deserve complete confidence that every public decision is made for one reason alone: because it serves the public interest.

The IAASABC continues to be such an important pillar of Bucks County—preserving cherished traditions, strengthening civic and cultural ties, and creating a lasting sense of fellowship across generations. I am deeply grateful for your friendship, your wisdom, and the many ways you continue to enrich our community.
For 150 years, Langhorne Borough has been strengthened by the same enduring force: people who care deeply about their neighbors and their community.
That spirit was on full display this past weekend as neighbors from across the Borough came together for the annual Red, White & Blue Community Dinner.
From the town once known as Attleborough, to the arrival of the railroad and adoption of the Langhorne name in 1876, to the vibrant community we know today, every chapter of this Borough’s story has been written by those willing to serve, contribute, and build together.
As America continues to celebrate 250 years, it was an honor to mark Langhorne’s own historic anniversary and celebrate the shared history that continues to unite this community.
Huge thanks to the entire planning committee, Borough leaders, volunteers, and everyone whose hard work made this extraordinary evening possible. Here’s to 150 years of Langhorne Borough—and 150 more!
🚨 The most important moment in the fight against cancer often comes before the diagnosis.
It comes when a woman learns she is at greater risk. When she recognizes a warning sign. When her doctor knows what to look for. When a screening finds cancer early enough to change everything that follows.
As Co-Chair of the House Cancer Caucus, expanding access to early detection, education, and risk-based care has been one of my highest priorities. Yesterday, the House delivered a major victory for women’s health and cancer prevention by passing my bipartisan EARLY Act reauthorization and including my bipartisan SCREENS for Cancer Act.
Together, these bills protect those critical moments before a diagnosis—while helping more low-income, uninsured, and underserved women access lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings.
My mother and sister are survivors. For our family, early detection is not an abstraction. It is how we know that the right information and the right care, delivered in time, can save a life.
I urge my colleagues in the Senate to act without delay and send this lifesaving legislation to the President’s desk.

Pearline Compton of Bristol Borough was the kind of woman every community hopes to have—someone whose faith, kindness, and quiet strength made every life she touched better.
Born in Kelly, Louisiana, Pearline came to Bucks County as a young woman and built a life rooted in hard work, humility, family, and service. Over time, she became deeply woven into the fabric of our community.
For more than 33 years, Pearline worked as a skilled press operator at Falls Manufacturing in Fairless Hills, and remarkably, never missed a single day of work.
That tells you something about who she was.
Dependable. Disciplined. Proud of honest work. Faithful in every responsibility placed before her.
But Pearline’s greatest legacy was not only in the work she did. It was in the love she gave and the community she helped strengthen.
In 1986, after the passing of her beloved niece, Eula Mae Hamilton, Pearline opened her heart and her home to Eula’s young daughters, Chrissandra and my dear friend, Valerie Hamilton, and raised them as her own. For those who know Chrissandra and Valerie, you know the remarkable women they became, and can see Pearline’s love, strength, and steady hand in both of them.
That same heart extended far beyond her own home.
Pearline poured herself into her community, supporting children, families, neighbors, and local organizations with the same devotion that defined her life. Through Children of God Educational Services, in Historic Bristol Borough, established and led by Valerie, she shared wisdom, encouragement, kindness, and love with young people and families across our community.
That is what hometown heroes do.
They show up. They love deeply. They serve quietly. They lift children, strengthen families, support neighbors, and leave a community better than they found it.
Pearline Compton lived 94 years that way—with faith in action, love made visible, and kindness strong enough to shape generations.
Please join me in extending heartfelt condolences to Chrissandra, Valerie, Pearline’s entire family, and all who were blessed to know and love her.
Every child deserves a healthy start—and no family should have to navigate outdated barriers to access the nutrition and care their children need.
That is why I am working with First Focus on Children and partners across the country to strengthen children’s health and modernize the programs families rely on. Through my bipartisan MODERN WIC Act, we are working to permanently authorize remote certification, remove barriers tied to work, transportation, childcare, and disability, and ensure more mothers and young children can access essential nutrition support.
@Campaign4Kids is a bipartisan advocacy organization dedicated to making kids and families a priority in federal policy and budget decisions. Together, our focus is clear: putting children first.

For years, I have worked alongside the United @steelworkers and the men and women of District 10 to protect good jobs, strengthen workplace safety, and keep American industry strong.
This week, I sat down with Dan Peterson of Pennsburg and Craig Leopold of Perkasie to continue that work. United Steelworkers District 10 represents workers at Dow Chemical, Trinseo, U.S. Steel, and other employers across our district—men and women whose skill and experience are essential to our local economy and our nation’s industrial strength.
Together, we are advancing practical solutions to strengthen workplace protections, retain the experienced workforce our industries depend on, revitalize American manufacturing and shipbuilding, and support the working families who keep our region moving.
We do not rebuild American industry by weakening workers. We rebuild it by investing in them.
Long before a student’s challenges become a crisis, a school psychologist is often the person who sees the warning signs, earns their trust, and helps put them back on solid ground.
Throughout the year, we work closely with the National Association of School Psychologists and local experts like PA-1’s own Julia Szarko—professionals who know where the system is working, where it is falling short, and what students and schools need most.
Their frontline expertise helped shape our bipartisan Mental Health in Schools Excellence Program Act, which would lower the cost of training, strengthen the pipeline of qualified professionals, and bring more school-based mental health providers into the communities facing the greatest shortages.
School psychologists are essential to student success, and we will keep working together to strengthen their profession, expand their reach, and ensure every student has access to the support they need, when they need it.
The CCP is not waiting at the water’s edge. It is operating inside the United States—targeting statehouses, local officials, universities, businesses, and civic organizations to advance Beijing’s interests and weaken our defenses from within.
At yesterday’s @HouseIntel hearing, I questioned Nebraska State Senator Eliot Bostar about the tactics he has witnessed firsthand. His answer was unmistakable: our adversaries do not fear operating on American soil. They exploit proxies, embed themselves in trusted organizations, and turn those institutions against commonsense protections.
That must end.
I will continue calling for stronger intelligence sharing, greater transparency, and decisive action to expose these networks, close the loopholes they exploit, and give every state the tools to identify, disrupt, and defeat foreign influence.
The CCP should understand this clearly: America will no longer provide a permissive environment for its interference.

Today I am returning home to be with my family during an incredibly painful and deeply personal time.
Our family’s 12-day-old daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter has returned home to God this afternoon. We have been in God’s hands throughout all of this.
More than a year ago, I walked into the Wojnovich home and smelled the fuel myself.
Since then, I have worked side by side with the Wojnovich family and the Mt. Eyre Task Force at every stage: pressing the responsible agencies, challenging inadequate answers, demanding a cleanup the residents can measure and trust, and building the bipartisan Wojnovich Pipeline Safety Act from the failures they experienced firsthand.
Today, I brought these residents to Washington, where they joined Congressman Tom Suozzi—my partner in this effort—and me in calling on our colleagues to pass the strongest pipeline safety reforms in more than a decade. Following the press conference, the Task Force and I met directly with PHMSA to put their unresolved questions before the federal agency with the authority to act and press for the transparency, clear standards, and accountability they deserve.
From the first alarm raised in the Wojnovich home to today’s meeting in Washington, we have moved forward together—and we will continue doing so until these families have the answers they need, the Wojnovich Pipeline Safety Act becomes law, and no other family is left to navigate these failures alone.
For years, I have worked alongside our incredible PA-1 airport service workers and my friends and partners at @SEIU, @CWAUnion, and @unitehere to advance a simple principle: the people who keep our airports safe, orderly, and moving deserve fair wages and meaningful benefits.
Today, alongside @RepChuyGarcia and @SenMarkey, we introduced the Good Jobs for Good Airports Act to turn that principle into law.
We built this effort together, and we will keep working together until the people who sustain our aviation system receive the economic security and respect their work has earned.
Election reform should not be about giving one party an advantage. It should be about giving every American confidence that our elections belong to the American people.
That is the principle behind the bipartisan Stop Foreign Funds in Elections Act, which the House passed unanimously yesterday.
This bill closes a dangerous loophole that allowed foreign nationals to finance ballot initiatives, referenda, and recall elections.
I’m grateful to @IssueOneReform for supporting this legislation and calling on the Senate to act.
American elections must be decided by American citizens alone.
