Today marks my final day as a Member of Congress. It was the honor of a lifetime to represent SW Alabama and to fight for our conservative values and priorities. My prayer is that we remain hopeful and optimistic people & that we never stop fighting to form a more perfect Union.
There were plenty of big victories for our veterans, but some of the best moments were small things where we were able to have a positive impact on those who have given so much to our country, like getting a new US flag for an American Legion in Citronelle.https://t.co/KIgWnBqQfZ
As I continue looking back on my proudest accomplishments as your Congressman, I’m very pleased with the work we were able to do for our local veterans. Our office helped thousands of veterans over the years get the benefits and health care they deserve.
Specifically, I’m so proud of the new, modern VA outpatient clinic in Mobile. When I came to office, the project was stuck in the mud but we kept pushing the VA to get the project done. https://t.co/9BdNyxINdr
@Bob_Grip It was a real blast when you joined us that day, Bob! I quickly realized that people weren’t showing up to talk to their congressman, they were coming to see Bob Grip!
One of my favorite memories was when @CBSThisMorning and @nancycordes came to SW Alabama to ride along with us for a day of town hall meetings. I thought the story really captured the great people of our area! WATCH: https://t.co/LxrbwCuX3v
I loved holding town hall meetings across Southwest Alabama because I always learned something new and gained a better understanding of the challenges facing our communities. That’s why I held over 150 town hall meetings all across our district.
As my time in Congress draws to a close, I wanted to look back at some of my proudest accomplishments and highlights from the last six years. It has been the honor of my life to represent Southwest Alabama in Congress!
It is with heavy hearts we are mourning the tragic loss of acting Chief of Staff and Executive Director of Finance, Paul Wesch. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Linda, their children and all of those who had the privilege of knowing Paul. 1/2
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” - John 1:14
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
REMINDER: Nancy Pelosi bucked bipartisan negotiations and chose to put partisan politics over delivering critical and immediate economic relief to the American people.
This relief package could have passed months ago, but Democrat obstruction stood in the way.
We are getting close to noon, and we still haven’t seen the likely 1,000+ page bill that Speaker Pelosi says the House will vote on later today. A bill that could have been passed MONTHS ago if Pelosi and Democrats hadn’t played politics. This is a failure on so many levels.
I’m happy to report that my bill to name the #Fairhope Post Office after former Congressman Jack Edwards has passed the Senate! Thanks to @SenShelby and @SenDougJones for their help and support!
Not on our watch!
#ICYMI: In just one week, #USSGabrielleGiffords and our @USCG partners seized over 3000 Kg in narcotics worth an estimated 17 million dollars while operating in @NAVSOUS4THFLT.

Happy 201st birthday to the great state of #Alabama! I'm blessed to call our great state home. The #LibraryofCongress has a world of resources about our history, including my favorite section with historical Alabama maps. https://t.co/ak2A6enceX
