Rep. Dusty Johnson

South Dakota's lone U.S. Representative - husband, father, & proud South Dakotan. Member of @HouseAgGOP, @TransportGOP & @ChinaSelect.

I’m praying for the family, friends, and colleagues of Deputy Katherine Frank. Her passing is tragic. I’m grateful for her service and join in honoring her sacrifice.

I saw firsthand the incredible talent of the 114th Fighter Wing’s pilots and maintainers. Our airmen are second to none, and they deserve the best equipment to get the job done. That means F-35s in South Dakota. Our state is ready for this investment.

We cannot threaten and we cannot charm Xi Jinping into a good deal. China is a geopolitical threat that the United States must take seriously.

Just two years ago, USPS wanted to decrease this facility’s operational capacity. They’ve heard the voices of South Dakotans calling for better service and made investments to improve mail processing in our state. These upgrades mean most South Dakota-originating mail will now be processed and handled in South Dakota. I’m glad USPS recognized that it makes more sense to process South Dakota mail right here.

China isn’t going to follow America’s lead on artificial intelligence regulation. We can put reasonable guardrails in place that protect Americans without stifling the innovation that keeps us competitive.

I met with Growth Energy to discuss the positive impact homegrown fuel has on South Dakota’s ag economy. I’m working to get year-round E15 across the finish line, giving consumers a cheaper option at the pump.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the nearly 3,000 Americans lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the heroes who ran toward danger. We will always remember their sacrifice, their courage, and the unity of a nation determined to never forget.

[Rep. Dusty Johnson @RepDustyJohnson]

South Dakota is built on hard work and a commitment to getting the job done. I’m grateful for those who keep our country moving forward every day. Happy Labor Day!

Teenagers deserve the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and build a path toward success. My TEENS Act would provide greater flexibility and give teens who want to work the opportunity to do so. https://t.co/9qn9tJxlwQ

We need to add processing capacity for American ranchers to meet the high demand for beef. More processing options benefit both producers and consumers.

[Rep. Dusty Johnson @RepDustyJohnson]

I have consistently opposed policies that increase foreign beef imports at the expense of American cattle producers. I have raised these concerns with the White House several times, and my position has not changed. American cattlemen have worked hard to rebuild the nation’s herd and meet consumer demand. They should not have to shoulder the burden of polices that put additional pressure on their markets.

Rural America can be where the next generation of innovation and economic growth takes place. I spoke at the Midwest Agricultural Export Summit in Sioux Falls about the opportunities ahead for South Dakota producers to expand into new markets, compete in the global economy, and grow rural communities.

Public officials should not be buying and selling individual stocks. I’ve been a leading voice in Congress for banning these types of trades and ensuring public service is not about personal financial gain.

[Rep. Dusty Johnson @RepDustyJohnson]

If we care about American energy dominance, we need year-round E15.

The Clarity Act establishes basic rules of the road for digital assets and cryptocurrency, giving innovators the certainty they need to build and invest in America. American innovation depends on getting this legislation across the finish line and ensuring the United States remains the global leader in digital assets.

The South Dakota School of Mines will receive $25 million in federal funding to help strengthen America’s critical minerals workforce. South Dakota students will play a leading role in the race to surpass China in critical minerals production, building the workforce we need to secure our supply chains and strengthen American manufacturing.

[Rep. Dusty Johnson @RepDustyJohnson]

As Chairman of the Digital Assets Subcommittee, I want to make sure technology and innovation add real value to middle America. That’s why I was honored to speak at the “Flyover FinTech” conference hosted by @USRepMikeFlood.

[Rep. Dusty Johnson @RepDustyJohnson]

Thank you, Cassie, Brooke, Levi, Ben, Owen, and Brooklyn, for your service as interns this summer. They had a front-row seat to Congress and played an active role in helping South Dakotans. I appreciate the great work they did for our state.

This year’s annual defense bill sends a strong message of American strength by investing in military readiness and prioritizing our troops.

[Rep. Dusty Johnson @RepDustyJohnson]

It’s simple, Members of Congress should not be allowed to buy individual stocks. The Stop Insider Trading Act will make sure lawmakers cannot profit from insider information. I voted to pass this commonsense bill.
