Rep. Vicente Gonzalez

Proudly representing the 34th District of Texas in the U.S. Congress #TX34

[Rep. Vicente Gonzalez @RepGonzalez]

Under this Administration and extreme Republican leadership in Washington, prices on food, gas and utilities have spiked—and it will only get worse with their plan to cut funding for programs like Medicare next year.

Medicare is a lifeline for millions of Americans, including thousands in South Texas. I’ll keep fighting in Congress to assure we protect your right to access health care and age with dignity.

[Rep. Vicente Gonzalez @RepGonzalez]

South Texas veterans bravely served our country, and we must ensure access to the support they earned.

I was delighted to meet with local heroes at Amor Eterno Provider Services' luncheon and resource event to share how my office can assist with any issues involving the VA or other federal agencies. To learn more, visit https://t.co/MfZmtvwClx or call 1 [phone].

#TeamGonzalez was honored to attend the ribbon cutting of the newly improved Riviera Fire Station in Kleberg County. With updated internet access, phone systems, plumbing, air conditioning and electrical systems, our first responders will be able to serve communities more effectively and efficiently!

As your Congressman, I am working to build on these improvements and bring more resources down from Washington to improve the quality of life in South Texas.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I proudly supported in 2021 continues to deliver for South Texas!

With this more than $9 million federal investment, Cameron County will expand public parking near the Los Indios Port of Entry. Now, our region's commercial truck drivers will be able to maintain effective operations in supplying American communities with goods and materials!

South Texans are doing everything they can to make ends meet. Instead of rewarding hard work, this Administration and radical Republicans in Washington continue to raise prices on goods, gas, utilities and health care, forcing working families to pay an additional $2,900+ in costs.

In Congress, I am fighting to put South Texans first, and put an end to extreme policies that are raising your costs.

[Rep. Vicente Gonzalez @RepGonzalez]

South Texas seniors worked hard their entire lives to retire with dignity. Yet in just one year, over 62,000 Texas seniors reported over $1.5 billion in financial losses from targeted scams.

Today, I joined Coastal Bend seniors and veterans to discuss my work to protect their savings, hold scammers accountable, and provide financial institutions the tools to stop crime before it occurs.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of fraud, reach out to the National Elder Fraud Hotline at 1-833-372-8311. For additional help, call my office at 1-888-217-0261.

South Texas is made up of cities of all sizes, each with its own special charm.

As your Congressman, I'm always fighting to ensure our smaller communities get the same federal resources as any major metropolitan area. That's why I secured $6 million this past year for a new Regional Nursing Training Facility in Kingsville to retain jobs and improve access to healthcare. And I look forward to continuing to deliver for all of South Texas.

South Texans cannot afford the Administration's illegal war in Iran. In total, our families have spent an additional $221 million on gas since February, costing the average household an additional $920 in gas costs.

Extreme Republicans in Washington promised to lower your costs. They lied. I’m fighting to put money back in your pocket and end to an unauthorized war that is spiking prices for American families

#TeamGonzalez was thrilled to attend the groundbreaking of the Sebastian Lateral G Drainage Improvement Project, a collaborative effort between Hidalgo and Willacy Counties to strengthen the safety and resilience of our communities from extreme weather.

This project includes nearly 5-miles of drainage improvement and will provide an additional outlet to move surface water out of the Sebastian area during rain and flooding events. A big win for our region! As always, I remain committed in securing federal resources to strengthen infrastructure that protects our homes and businesses during major weather events.

It was great to chat with Nelnet customer service call center employees in Brownsville about my work to lower the cost of higher education, deliver student debt relief, and bring federal resources to South Texas’s colleges, universities and vocational schools.

A good education can make a world of difference in a person’s life, and we must ensure everyone who wants it has access to this opportunity.

Good parks make great cities! That's why I secured nearly $1 million in community project funding for the City of Raymondville's park improvement plan. By enhancing our walking trails, lighting, parking, ADA restrooms and more, we are creating a healthier future for all our neighbors.

🚨New Funding Alert!🚨

More than $9 million in federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I helped pass into law is coming to Cameron County to construct public parking for truck drivers near the Los Indios Port of Entry.

As working families struggle with rising costs, we must ensure that our ports of entry and the truckers who supply our country with goods and materials have the resources they need to maintain effective operations.

That top search result for Medicare might not be Medicare.

Medicare open enrollment runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, and the Federal Trade Commission is warning that scammers may pay for search ads that look like government websites.

Clicking one could lead you to hand over your Medicare or Social Security number. Before you click, skip results marked “ad” or “sponsored” and confirm the web address ends in .gov.

Under this Administration, we've hit 158 days of the national average price at the pump being above $4. A new record.

While extreme Republicans in Washington look the other way, our families are feeling the pain at the pump, at the checkout line, and every time they sit down to try to make monthly budgets work.

Investing in smaller communities is as important as investing in big cities!

I am thrilled to have secured nearly $1 million in community project funding for the City of Raymondville's park improvement plan. This investment will create opportunities for a healthier future and increased economic development at Pool Park, Pocket Park, and Smiley Face Park.

Thank you to Mayor Gonzales and all our city leaders for their outstanding leadership in getting this funding across the finish line.
