The @WaysandMeansGOP held a hearing on the impact of rising health care costs on patients and families.
We have to have serious reform of health insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, and their subsidiaries to reduce the cost of healthcare.
The 5th Annual WATERS Summit in Greenville continues to be a great success! @RepDavidRouzer and I led this bipartisan effort to bring stakeholders together to discuss solutions to flooding and waterway challenges across North Carolina.
We must keep working together to protect our communities and strengthen our state’s resilience.

Calling all student innovators in NC-03!
@CongressionalAC
is a great opportunity for middle and high school students to use their creativity and coding skills to build an app that addresses a problem they care about.
I encourage students across Eastern NC to participate and show us what they can create!
More than 17 veterans die by suicide each day. Many are battling the lasting effects of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and PTSD.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) offers a potential treatment option to help veterans recover. My bipartisan Veterans National Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment Act, H.R. 1336, would establish a VA pilot program to provide HBOT to veterans with PTSD and TBI.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Early detection and regular screenings can make a meaningful difference in breast cancer outcomes. I encourage everyone to talk with their doctor about their risk and recommended screenings. Together, we can raise awareness and support those fighting this disease.
A mandatory evacuation order remains in effect for visitors on Hatteras Island. If you have not evacuated, leave now before conditions deteriorate and NC-12 becomes unsafe for travel.

Stay safe and take this seriously.

Health insurance companies should work for patients, not stand in the way of their care. As a physician, I’ve seen how insurance denials can delay treatment and put patients in difficult positions. Our health insurance system needs serious reform that puts patients first and ensures Americans can access the care their doctors recommend.
For decades, service members, military families, and civilian workers at Camp Lejeune were exposed to contaminated drinking water. They deserve justice, not more delays.
I will keep fighting until these families get the justice they deserve.
I’m encouraged to hear that @Pontifex surgery was successful and that he is recovering well. Given my background, I know how important it is to see positive progress after surgery. I’m keeping the Holy Father in my prayers and wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
Team Murphy was proud to host our annual Service Academy Day in New Bern this past weekend.
It was a great opportunity to meet with students and families interested in attending one of our nation’s service academies and to learn more about the application and nomination process.
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Mike Ditka, a Hall of Fame player and legendary coach who led the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl XX victory. His leadership and passion for the game made him one of football’s most iconic figures. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
SAVE THE DATE: Rep. Greg Murphy and Rep. David Rouzer will host the fifth annual WATERS Summit on Wednesday, October 21, in Greenville, NC.

@RepGregMurphy@UHC Hey buddy. You do realize Congress created a system where the government pays private insurers to manage medicare plans - medicare advantage.
It was a pleasure to join the University City Kiwanis Club in Greenville to share an update on the latest happenings in Congress and discuss issues affecting Eastern North Carolina.
Thank you to the Kiwanis Club for having me and for the opportunity to speak with your members.
My 90 yo Mother in Law had a Transient Ischemic Attack two weeks ago. Went to hospital and was kept overnight. Fortunately no deficits. It took less than a week for her to receive a denial letter from @UHC for her stay. THIS is the problem. #ProfitsAbovePatients
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Capt. Garrett Pearson, a Marine who tragically died during a training accident in Florida.
My prayers are with his wife, Autumn, their children, and Capt. Pearson’s fellow Marines during this difficult time.
We are grateful for his service and sacrifice to our nation.
Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists murdered approximately 1,200 innocent people on one of the deadliest days for the Jewish people in history. We will NEVER forget. America must always stand with Israel and against radical Islamist terror. 🇺🇸🇮🇱
This National Primary Care Physician Week, I’m proud to recognize the physicians and health care professionals who serve as the first line of care for patients and families across Eastern North Carolina.
Primary care physicians build lasting relationships with their patients, help manage chronic conditions, and keep our communities healthy. Thank you for all you do to care for your patients and our communities.
