Washington State Rep (D-Kitsap) 🏛️🇺🇸 youth mentor and nonprofit leader working to Fix our Ferries ⛴️ Mobilize Mental Health 🧠 and Protect Puget Sound 🌊
My top priority in Olympia has been building a bipartisan coalition to Fix our Ferries. The ferry legislation I sponsored had 27 co-sponsors, including leadership from both parties. We worked across the aisle to secure $80 million in new ferry funding ($1.3 billion total)…
Happy 2nd Annual Bull Kelp Day, Washington! 🌿🐋
Over 80% of bull kelp in Puget Sound is gone — but partners like @SeattleAquarium, PG S’Klallam Tribe & @SuquamishTribe are turning the tide.
Salmon need kelp. Orcas need salmon. We need both.

Grateful to colleagues for coming together to support reliable ferry service while creating Made In Washington jobs.
House Bill 1923 now heads to the Senate for consideration.

Millions of Americans will lose healthcare and nutrition assistance. Here in Washington state, we will fight back because we take care of our neighbors in need.
More than 16 million Americans are at risk of losing their health care because Republicans in Congress are rushing to pass a bill that would cut federal funding for Medicaid and weaken the Affordable Care Act.
If the House passes this bill, it will increase costs and hurt working class families for generations to come. Call your representative today and tell them to vote no on this bill.
Inspired after meeting the team at Bremerton’s KidVantage facility. They help neighbors in need by providing baby formula, diapers, car seats, clothes, and school supplies.
I’m eager to support KidVantage’s vital work while investing in Kitsap’s kids and working families.
When he’s not hustling around base, Cody’s in the pool training. He’s a Special Olympics swimmer with a need for speed—and gold medals to prove it. Tomorrow he’s going for 4 more at State. He’s feeling strong, but send him some extra good vibes for race day. Go Cody! 🥇💪
Had an awesome lunch with my friend Cody to celebrate his 1-year anniversary working as a groundskeeper at Naval Base Kitsap. He takes real pride in being a “ground guy,” keeping the barracks and buildings in top shape.

Back in March, I announced a plan to restore the state’s domestic ferry service to pre-pandemic levels this summer.
Today, we celebrated an important milestone: the return of 2-boat service to the Bremerton route for the first time in 3 years. That cuts the wait time by an hour.
Happy 74th Birthday, Washington State Ferries! ⛴️🥳
Since June 1st 1951, these iconic green and white vessels have been connecting communities and offering the most beautiful commutes in the world. Here’s to nearly three-quarters of a century sailing the Salish Sea! @wsferries
Yesterday in Rich Passage near Bremerton, our crew aboard #WallaWalla launched a rescue boat after a kayaker was spotted in distress. The person was safely brought to shore. Shout out to the crew and all who watch over the Salish Sea! 📹: Jared Ketchum
