As we move away from paper copies of important documents, I've introduced legislation that would allow PennDOT to issue electronic vehicle registration cards. This legislation could be helpful as PennDOT no longer automatically provides paper copies.
Great news! I’m proud to have helped secure nearly $500,000 in funding to support the Olivet Boys & Girls Club. These resources will strengthen violence prevention outcomes for local youth and expand opportunities that provide structure and support.
It's concerning that fiscal conservatives want more government services but continue to vote against the funding to provide them. @PAHouseDems have delivered new revenue streams for the #PABudget, but the #PASenate ignores them. Make it make sense! https://t.co/CAuaES9KSg
Many people across PA, especially in #Reading, use mass transit in their everyday lives. Whether it’s getting to work or doctor's appointments & procedures, mass transit plays a vital role. We need to properly fund it or face rate hikes & loss of routes. https://t.co/xr3joyBHxL
Our kids deserve a fair shot for a bright future. They can’t do that if we don’t show them why going to school is vital & on an empty stomach. Access to a free breakfast eliminates worry about their next meal, can fully focus on learning & becoming better. https://t.co/AVRNnx8tdt
Despite what you might be hearing out of DC the only federal or state funded healthcare that undocumented immigrants can get is in LIFE-OR-DEATH emergencies like heart attack or stroke. Everyone has the right to live regardless of their immigration status. https://t.co/1HUJO5Sbru
Games like Roblox are being infiltrated by dangerous child predators. During a @PA_HouseApprops#PABudget hearing, I spoke with Attorney General Dave Sunday about what his office is doing to hold these companies accountable and keep our kids safe. https://t.co/Si41Kz8SeE
I’ve been hearing a lot about people living in Reading having limited access to fresh water. I questioned leaders from DEP and DCNR about ways they’re prioritizing their commitment to Berks County and their plan for completion and preservation of the Schuylkill River trail.
Families deserve better. I questioned DOC Secretary Laurel Harry about barriers to prison visits and why Pennsylvania invests so little in rehabilitation. Stronger reentry programs and family connections mean safer communities for all of us.
During a #PABudget hearing, I spoke with @PADCEDnews about rising costs and how raising the minimum wage and investing in affordable housing in this year’s budget could benefit thousands of our neighbors in the Reading area. https://t.co/8nX7sOIKqA
Governor Shapiro's spending plan reflects necessary costs, and targeted use of the Rainy Day Fund. Meanwhile, GOP representatives want to cut $6 billion from a $53.4 billion budget, clearly putting our kids’ education and critical human services on the chopping block.
We live in hard times, especially if you are an immigrant. As part of Dominican Independence Day, let's honor & remember all the good Dominicans have done and continue to do, despite those that would paint them as villains just for being themselves. https://t.co/QAdCXbkDrz
My father worked for R.M. Palmer in West Reading during their explosion and safety measures like this could have brought my family and others a bit more clarity. https://t.co/zMvMv0Va1t
I was proud to stand before my colleagues in support of a bill to increase safety for our workers. This bill would require the PUC and natural gas utility companies to identify degrading pipelines and develop plans to repair and replace them before they fail.
On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the victims, the unimaginable loss, and honor the resilience of survivors. Today is also a time to stand firmly against antisemitism and all forms of hatred, and a reminder that justice and compassion must always prevail.
The Gerry Street Connector project will improve safety, accessibility and connectivity for residents and visitors, while strengthening links between our neighborhoods. This funding will deliver a vital pedestrian connector for our community.
