Forced annexation, which means higher property taxes 💰and higher density developments, is one step closer to returning in Tennessee!
Thank you Rep. Boyd, Cochran, Crawford, Grant, Hale, Hicks, Hulsey, Leader Lamberth, Moody, Parkinson, & Shaw defending property rights in TN.
Sen. Bailey claimed the "whole purpose" of the proposal was to save on the cost of an annexation referendum, but we believe that is a smokescreen.
The reason for the legislation is for cities & developers to get around the referendum. @realDailyWire

Thank You Judge McVeagh, The Chattanooga Bar Association, & our Hamilton Co Legislative Delegation for your support today @RepMikeCarter’s judicial portrait hanging.
It was an honor. #CHA#Todd Gardenhire @SenBoWatson @GregVitalTN @PatsyHazlewood
Great bill! Proud to sponsor alongside @RepAlexander7 . Began this journey years ago w @RepMikeCarter. Still some work to do, but I kept my commitment to keep working on it. Promise made. Promise kept. Sorry he’s not here to see it become law. @hcgoptn@TNFarmBureau
Vehicle emissions testing in Hamilton, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson & Wilson Co. will no longer be required after today.
Grateful for the hard work of @SenBoWatson, @WilliamLamberth, and all who fought to bring this to completion.
Wish Mike were here to see it. #TnLeg#CHA
I filed a resolution today to end emissions testing in Davidson County. The EPA has given Davidson and its surrounding counties the green light to end testing. All counties except Davidson have all decided to end their programs. It's time we do the same.
It was my privilege to attend this years Public Defenders Conference in Chattanooga and to present the first annual Mike Carter Award to Chief Justice Jeffrey S. Bivins for courageous leadership during the historic Covid-19 pandemic of 2020/2021. #TnLeg#CHA
Thank you #HD29 residents for entrusting me to represent you in the Gen. Assembly. I will carry on Mike and Joan’s torch of good governance and strong leadership. I will always put YOU first!
I swung by the office of my dear friend @RepMikeCarter. Mike will forever be missed in the @TNHouseReps. His humor, his wisdom, his passion will forever valued. I trust that his family knows he was great among the good and good among the great. #HD29
Paul McDaniel was a friend, a good man, and a great leader in our community. He was always gracious and kind to Mike and I and made us feel welcome when we visited Second Missionary Baptist Church.
My deepest condolences to his family during this difficult time. #CHA
Happy birthday to the 49th governor of Tennessee, @BillHaslam. I appreciate your faithful service and leadership to our great state and your friendship.
After experiencing mild, allergy-like symptoms earlier today, I took a COVID-19 test out of an abundance of caution—that test result came back positive. I am grateful to be fully vaccinated, as my symptoms are barely noticeable; without a vaccine, my symptoms would be much worse.
Today, 101 years ago the 19th amendment was added to the Constitution after Tennessee became the 36th state to vote in favor of women’s right to vote. I am honored to be able to sit in the room where it happened and serve as a Representative.

Thanks for sharing this. A husband and wife in our area bought several used vans to start their own business and couldn’t get them through emissions because of minor transmission issues.
Their difficulties prompted Mike to run the bill.
