Today, I’m excited to announce that @USDOT’s CRISI program has awarded WV nearly $35 million in federal funding to repair and modernize two of our railroads.

The first project dedicates over $25 million to repair 20 bridges, replace rails, and install new safety sensors along the A&O Railroad between Grafton, Philippi, Buckhannon and Burnsville.

The second project will put upwards of $9 million toward replacing 10 miles of worn-out track on the South Branch Valley Railroad in Grant, Hardy and Hampshire counties.

Both projects will help ensure local businesses can continue to bring their goods to market and support jobs across our great state.

I am proud to support the CRISI program through my work on @HouseAppropsGOP.

Grateful that @FEMA opened a Disaster Recovery Center at Bridgeport City Hall today.

Many Mountaineers are still reeling from the severe storms and devastating flooding that hit our state this summer.

This center will provide direct, in-person assistance to Harrison County families and can help them access the federal resources that @POTUS has made available to help West Virginians recover.

Starting tomorrow, the center will be open from 7:30 AM–4 PM, Monday through Saturday.

My office also stands ready to help anyone affected by these floods. Please don’t hesitate to call us if we can be of assistance.

Great getting to visit with @wrenbaker and @WestVirginiaU President @michaeltbenson today! We talked all things Mountaineers and discussed how important it is to get the Save College Sports Act passed when Congress is back in session.

Oh, and it was awesome to tour Hope Coliseum too!

Let’s go!!! Awesome recognition for Michael Hawkins Jr.

5 touchdowns, 400+ yards, to beat the Bearcats. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Can’t wait to see him tear up TCU on Saturday.

A Princeton Ph.D. in chemical engineering. 2,300+ job applications. Still no job while companies import thousands of cheap foreign workers every year to do these very same jobs.

This is insanity. These programs are a COMPLETE SCAM. Stop selling out American workers. END THEM NOW!

[The Wall Street Journal @WSJ]

Jack Weis has applied to more than 2,300 jobs since he graduated from Princeton in 2024 with his Ph.D. in chemical engineering. He still doesn’t have a job. https://t.co/noQ2cVz9OG

Last weekend, West Virginians gathered at the West Virginia Fallen Firefighter Memorial to honor the brave firefighters who gave so much in service to others.

We remember Danville Volunteer Firefighter Steven Griffith and Wheeling firefighters J. Gregory Hinzey and Matthew McGovern.

We will never forget their sacrifice, service, or legacy.

H-1B and OPT programs are SCAMS that undercut and replace American workers with cheap foreign labor.

650k Americans graduated with computer science related degrees, but they’re being replaced by the 500k H1B visa holders who are mostly from China and India.

This doesn’t make sense. We need to END these SCAM programs NOW!

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Longinus — the Roman centurion who pierced Jesus’ side.

Tradition holds that he was partially blind until Christ’s blood touched his eyes and cured him.

He left the army, became a monk, and was later martyred.

St. Longinus, pray for us!

Bridge Day is tomorrow!

Every third Saturday in October, thousands gather at the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County to celebrate its 1977 completion and watch BASE jumpers leap nearly 900 feet into the gorge.

Our state is truly wild and wonderful!

Please join Mina and me in praying for the Bend, OR community tonight. May the souls of those taken in this horrific act of evil find eternal peace in heaven.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and may your perpetual light shine upon them 🙏

The Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival in Martinsburg is finally here! 🍎🍏

After a spring freeze devastated this year’s crop, I’m inspired by the resilience of the families who worked tirelessly to cultivate their orchards. I’m excited to celebrate their hard work and enjoy the harvest they’ve worked so hard to bring to our tables.

Bring your families and friends during Oct. 15–18 for an All-American celebration of our agricultural heritage, community spirit, and America’s 250th birthday!

Congratulations to @WestVirginiaU President @michaeltbenson on his inauguration as the university’s 27th president!
