Hoosiers should know what medical care costs before the bill arrives.
I met with @StateHealthIN Secretary of Health and Family Services, Gloria Sachdev, to discuss healthcare affordability, price transparency, more competition, and giving families greater control over their healthcare decisions.
Indiana is helping lead the way. I’m glad to be part of the push.
It’s a good day to be a Hoosier in Washington.
Indiana University opened its Capital Campus last night in our nation’s capital. As an IU alum, it was fun to help celebrate this milestone. The new campus opens doors for Hoosier students who want to study, serve, and build careers in Washington.
Go Hoosiers! #IU
Last week in #IN06, I visited with seniors at Mill Race Center in Columbus for National Senior Health and Fitness Day.
I lent a hand on a puzzle, heard what’s on their minds, and saw the important work Mill Race Center does to keep older Hoosiers active, connected, and engaged.
Indiana corn powers more than you think.
Last week, I toured Cardinal Ethanol in Union City, where Hoosier corn is turned into fuel-grade ethanol used in E15. That’s American energy made right here in Randolph County.
The House recently passed the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act to allow year-round E15 sales. I supported it because it’s good for corn farmers, good for Hoosier energy, and good for drivers looking for a lower-cost option at the pump. #IN06
I toured Clarity Care in Columbus, a not-for-profit serving women and families across our community.
Their team supports expectant mothers with prenatal care, counseling, parenting courses, and other resources — all at no cost.
Families facing big decisions should not have to face them alone. Clarity Care helps make sure they don’t. #IN06
The fatal shooting of Brett Scrogham is heartbreaking and outrageous.
Brett was a recent IU-Indy graduate with a bright future ahead of him. He was headed to an Indians game with his family when his life was taken.
Families should be able to park downtown, walk to a ballgame, and come home safely. Public safety has to be the first responsibility of city leadership.
My heart and prayers are with Brett’s family and friends.
Horrific update to breaking news I reported on Thursday.
The young man shot in the parking garage in downtown Indianapolis near the convention center has died.
The Marion County coroner confirms 23-year-old Brett Scrogham died from his injuries.
Multiple sources have told me and I have confirmed through IU’s online records that Scrogham recently graduated from IU’s Kelley School of Business and was named one of the top in his class.
Multiple sources also tell me that Brett was parking in the garage downtown near the convention center to attend the Indians game with his family when he was shot.
We have reached out to IMPD to see if an arrest has been made in this case and we are still waiting to hear back.
More to come.
I was in Trafalgar this week to announce that more than $1 million I requested for long-needed water infrastructure improvements has been included in an Appropriations bill.
Trafalgar is small, but growing quickly. Its water system has served this community for decades, and it’s time for the infrastructure to keep pace.
Clean water and reliable infrastructure aren’t optional for a growing town. I’ll keep working to get this funding over the finish line. #IN06
While in Columbus this week, I got a job-site update from Mayor Mary Ferdon on the Riverfront Redevelopment Project.
Backed by $5.6 million in READI funds and $12 million in local funding, this project will improve the flood-prone Columbus riverfront and better connect the county’s outdoor trail system.
The opening ceremony is set for October 23. Nothing like a deadline to keep a public project moving. #IN06
In Shelbyville with Major General Larry Muennich to announce $27.5 million secured for a new aviation maintenance hangar at the Army Aviation Support Facility.
900 Indiana Guardsmen serve out of this facility, supporting the aircraft that help keep our state ready at a moment’s notice. This funding delivers a modern facility built for the mission they carry out today and for years to come.
@NationalGuardIN protects every corner of Indiana. I’m grateful to stand with them. #IN06
Local radio still matters.
I stopped by @korncountry1003 to catch up with Rob West and Franklin Mayor Steve Barnett.
Stations like KORN Country help keep our communities connected, informed, and close to home. Good to be with them in Franklin. #IN06
Out in Centerville with Wayne County farmers at the Walther family farm.
We discussed the Farm Bill and what it means on the ground for Indiana agriculture: stronger crop insurance, more certainty for family farms, and support for producers who feed our communities and power our ag economy.
Time invested listening to the people who put food on our tables is time well spent. Standing with Indiana agriculture matters. #IN06 #IndianaAG
Prepared communities are safer communities.
I got an up-close look at the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s mobile command vehicle. I secured $120,000 to upgrade this vehicle so it can better serve Hoosiers in the community when disaster strikes.
This is the mobile command hub agencies rely upon when minutes matters. Thanks to Sheriff Lane for the tour and for the work his team does to keep Hoosiers safe. #IN06
We’re bringing the office to you!
Stop by our mobile office hours this Thursday in Shelbyville and Trafalgar for any help navigating federal agencies and accessing the resources you need. Our team is here to listen and assist Hoosiers across #IN06.
We should never take for granted the freedoms we’ve been given as Americans.
This morning, I joined Hancock County at Greenfield Park Cemetery to honor those who gave everything.
I had the privilege of presenting Congressional Commendations to World War II veterans Del Smothers and Homer Christie — men who answered the call more than 80 years ago.
Today, we remember those who didn’t come home. #MemorialDay #IN06
Today, we remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
On Memorial Day, we honor their sacrifice with gratitude — and a promise never to forget. #MemorialDay
Mary and I were back at @IMS today for Indiana’s greatest tradition. And this one delivered.
Closest margin in Indy 500 history. Seventy lead changes. One driver wins. Thirty-two walk away.
Congratulations to Sweden’s Felix Rosenqvist on taking the checkered flag at the Racing Capital of the World.
A Hoosier tradition. A global stage. No one does it like my hometown!

Roads. Rail. Bridges. Safer highways. After a markup that ran until 1 a.m., @TransportGOP passed the BUILD America 250 Act early this morning, delivering clear wins for #IN06. This bill:
✅Cuts red tape so roads, bridges, and infrastructure projects can get built
✅Renews funding to improve rail safety across the country
✅Establishes federal safety standards to better protect workers and drivers in construction zones
✅Ensures electric vehicle drivers contribute to maintaining our roads
It’s time for America to get back to building. On to the House floor.
Following a 14-hour legislative markup, T&I approved the BUILD America 250 Act – a bipartisan, five-year surface transportation reauthorization bill that invests in America’s roads, bridges, transit, rail transportation, and highway and motor carrier safety programs. https://t.co/4XURQ5Shuv
Kicking off another @HouseAppropsGOP markup with @RepMarkAlford.
Today’s bill is Energy and Water Development. These markups are long, but they matter. This is where we scrutinize federal spending, protect taxpayer dollars, and hold Washington accountable. #IN06
