Our wetlands are worth protecting.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is reviewing long-standing protections for National Wildlife Refuge System wetland easements in the Prairie Pothole Region—critical habitat that supports more than half of North America’s migratory waterfowl.
I’m fighting to protect these wetlands, and the investments Americans have made to conserve them.

It’s wrong and deeply disturbing that this Administration is failing to properly account for killed and wounded servicemembers. The U.S. government owes U.S. servicemembers, their families, and every American the truth about all U.S. casualties in the War with Iran. Proud to have led 14 fellow Democratic veterans in demanding complete transparency.
Joined seventy-two colleagues in urging the @NatlParkService to fix a massive backlog in grants. Over 1,400 active grants are stalled as they await review, representing over $360 million in funding. These delays are stalling trail maintenance at peak visitation season and putting wildfire prevention programs at risk. Public safety must come before politics.
Thirty-six years ago today, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. The ADA marked a major milestone in prohibiting discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Today, we celebrate the anniversary of this landmark achievement and recommit ourselves to breaking down barriers for those with disabilities.
Glad that the Napa County Resource Conservation District was able to bring together the Napa County Agricultural Commissioner, USDA representatives, and UC Davis researchers to discuss pressing issues in our grape growing community, including rising costs, market uncertainty, and the threat of the red blotch disease and other pests.
Fran Lemos was an incredible leader who acted as American Canyon’s unofficial matriarch and historian. Fran played an essential role in starting American Canyon’s Chamber of Commerce and the Community and Parks Foundation, helping local businesses thrive, and reinvigorating the outdoor landscape of the city. She leaves behind an incredible legacy and is deeply missed.
This Administration is blocking federal funding that California relies on to fight fires and earthquakes. Disaster response is a serious, bipartisan issue, and holding the funding to play political games is unacceptable. I will continue to fight to ensure our first responders have all the resources they need to save lives and keep people safe.

Thank you to James “Jim” Jones for his decades of distinguished public and legal service to our Napa community. Throughout his career, Jim served on the Napa City Council, led transformative community projects with the Kiwanis Club of Napa, and expanded housing opportunities through the Salvation Army. He is a leader with great integrity, generosity, humility, and unwavering dedication to public service. I’m proud to call him both a friend and a mentor.

237 years ago today, @waysmeanscmte was established. The committee wrote the legislation creating Social Security and Medicare and is responsible for raising revenue to fund the duties of our government. As Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Tax, I remain committed to getting our fiscal house in order and providing hardworking Americans with the support they need to get ahead.
Good to meet with @FarmerCoop to discuss the vital role co-ops play in supporting our agricultural community. It’s critical that we support agricultural initiatives that provide stability for our local producers.
#throwback Friday to when I was inducted into the California Waterfowlers Hall of Fame. California is home to the greatest waterfowl habitat in our country. Proud to be included among those who have worked tirelessly to protect and preserve our great wetlands and habitat.
Worked with @dorismatsui, @repjimmypanetta, @repgallagherca1, @senadamschiff, and colleagues to urge the FCC to deny AT&T’s petitions to discontinue landline service in California.
Nearly 200,000 California homes and businesses still rely on landlines as a critical backup during emergencies. Modernization cannot come at the expense of public safety.
The last thing we should be doing is writing blank checks to continue this illegal war with Iran. Read my full statement on Congressional Republicans’ defense authorization bill and Congressional Republicans’ $95 billion funding package.
