Congressman Tim Moore

Representing North Carolina's 14th Congressional District 🇺🇸| Longest-serving Speaker of the North Carolina House | Member of @FinancialCmte & @housebudgetGOP

The reckless magistrate judges in Charlotte are exactly why I introduced the Judicial Accountability for Public Safety Act.

Really simple: judges should be liable for negligently releasing a repeat offender who goes on to commit a serious violent crime.

HUGE NEWS FOR NORTH CAROLINA’S 14TH DISTRICT:
More than $871 million in federal funding is headed to North Carolina to support Hurricane Helene recovery efforts across the state, including the 14th District. This funding will help repair major highways, roads in our national forests, and other critical transportation infrastructure damaged by the storm.

I was glad to join @USDOL Secretary Keith Sonderling and NC Commissioner of Labor Luke Farley at Hyster-Yale in Charlotte to mark 30 years of North Carolina’s OSHA State Plan.

A safe workplace protects employees, strengthens businesses, and helps keep our economy moving. Every North Carolinian deserves to go to work and come home safely, and I’m proud we’ve made that a priority over the last three decades.

The USS Kings Mountain has a pretty good ring to it…

246 years ago today, American patriots won a pivotal victory at the Battle of Kings Mountain. Now, I’m asking the U.S. Navy to put that name where it belongs: on an American warship

[House Republicans @HouseGOP]

Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists murdered approximately 1,200 innocent people on one of the deadliest days for the Jewish people in history. We will NEVER forget. America must always stand with Israel and against radical Islamist terror. 🇺🇸🇮🇱

[Congressman Tim Moore @RepTimMooreNC]

I was glad to take part in today's @HouseBudgetGOP Committee field hearing in Dallas on America's fiscal future and the need for a fiscal commission.

Our national debt shows up in higher borrowing costs, inflation, and the mortgage payment on the average American’s home. It's also a national security concern.

The long-term fiscal condition of our country is a fundamental issue, and it's time we treat it that way.

[Congressman Tim Moore @RepTimMooreNC]

Despite decades of federal spending and regulation, health care remains too expensive and too difficult to access, not only here in North Carolina but in other states as well.

I joined @NEWSMAX to discuss how pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) are impacting drug costs and threatening our small, community pharmacies.

[House Judiciary GOP 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 @JudiciaryGOP]

Our healthcare system used to be driven by competition.

Now, it's government subsidies and regulations.

The result? Prices are rising, fraud is increasing, and patient care isn't improving.

25 years ago, our country and our world changed forever.

Today, we remember and honor the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroes who ran toward danger, the families of the fallen, and those who took up arms to serve in our armed forces.

After that day, Americans stood united by a shared love of country and neighbor. We must stand strong and continue to be that shining city on a hill.

[Congressman Tim Moore @RepTimMooreNC]

One year ago today, we lost Charlie Kirk.

Charlie was a devoted husband and father, a man of deep faith, and a proud American who inspired millions.

Today, we honor his life and legacy and continue to pray for his family and all those who loved him.

[Congressman Tim Moore @RepTimMooreNC]

Socialism stands in direct opposition to the principles that have made America the greatest nation in the world.

For 250 years, our country has been built on individual liberty, limited government, and the belief that every American should have the freedom to pursue their own future. Those principles are worth defending.

Today, I proudly voted to condemn socialism as its influence continues to grow within the Democrat Party. We have seen throughout history what happens when government power comes at the expense of individual freedom, and we cannot allow those failed ideas to take root here at home.

I will always stand for the Constitution, individual liberty, and the freedoms generations of Americans have fought to preserve.

Today, I recognized Huntersville’s Ambassador Christian School on the House floor for their big win in the Global Ireland Football Tournament!

The Lions traveled to Ireland and brought home a 58-34 victory over Grapevine Faith from Texas.

Congratulations to these outstanding student-athletes for representing Huntersville and North Carolina on the international stage.

Today marks one year since Iryna Zarutska was tragically murdered by a violent repeat offender who was released onto our streets time and time again.

Iryna came to America seeking safety and a better life. She should still be here today.

We must hold reckless judges accountable and put an end to soft-on-crime policies. We owe it to Iryna and every victim of violent crime to keep our communities safe.

[Congressman Tim Moore @RepTimMooreNC]

Nearly one year after Iryna Zarutska was brutally murdered, the magistrate judges who repeatedly released her killer still have not been held accountable.

This was preventable. Violent repeat offenders belong behind bars, and those who repeatedly put them back on our streets must be held accountable.

[Matt Van Swol @mattvanswol]

🚨#BREAKING: The family of Iryna Zarutska is filing a lawsuit against the city of Charlotte NC, nearly 1 year after she was m*rdered on the Light Rail.

This comes as an auditor's report revealed that 60% of everyone riding the Light Rail in Charlotte ILLEGALLY rides the train by not paying for a ticket.

Yes, you read that right... SIXTY PERCENT of riders on the Light Rail do not pay for a ticket and illegally ride the train.

"We need physical barriers to prevent non-ticketed riders from boarding our light rail system. It’s the only way, with a physical barrier, DeCarlos Brown Jr. would not have been on that train on August 22nd, 2025.”

"The family wants Iryna's de*th to lead to lasting changes so that the people who live in Charlotte can feel safe...."

GOOD!!!

[Congressman Tim Moore @RepTimMooreNC]

Reckless magistrate judges must be held accountable when their decisions put dangerous, repeat offenders back on the streets.

I joined @NEWSMAX this morning to discuss how my bill, the Judicial Accountability for Public Safety Act, would do just that.

[Congressman Tim Moore @RepTimMooreNC]

Repeat offenders should never be given endless chances to harm innocent people.

This Charlotte man, who was previously arrested at least nine times, has been attacking women and posting it on social media.

I introduced the Judicial Accountability for Public Safety Act to hold judges accountable when their decisions put dangerous, repeat offenders back on the streets.

Hurricane Helene exposed the need for better coordination between agencies to get disaster assistance to folks faster. Ms. Stephanie McGarrah, Deputy Secretary of North Carolina Department of Commerce, highlighted that challenge during a recent @FinancialCmte disaster recovery hearing.

That’s why I introduced the HUD Disaster Information Improvement Act. My legislation strengthens transparency and coordination to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse, and help get relief to those who need it faster.

[Congressman Tim Moore @RepTimMooreNC]

I led my North Carolina and South Carolina colleagues in a letter to Secretary Mullin requesting enhanced security and federal coordination for the 2027 World Military Games in the Carolinas.

With more than 10,000 active-duty military athletes from 140+ nations coming to Charlotte and the Carolinas, it's critical we have the resources in place to ensure a safe and successful event. That's why we're requesting a SEAR Level 1 designation and the establishment of a White House Task Force.

Requiring a photo I.D. to order pasta but not to vote in our elections is outrageous...
