Hurricane Helene exposed the need for better coordination between agencies to get disaster assistance to folks faster. Ms. Stephanie McGarrah, Deputy Secretary of North Carolina Department of Commerce, highlighted that challenge during a recent @FinancialCmte disaster recovery hearing.

That’s why I introduced the HUD Disaster Information Improvement Act. My legislation strengthens transparency and coordination to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse, and help get relief to those who need it faster.

I led my North Carolina and South Carolina colleagues in a letter to Secretary Mullin requesting enhanced security and federal coordination for the 2027 World Military Games in the Carolinas.

With more than 10,000 active-duty military athletes from 140+ nations coming to Charlotte and the Carolinas, it's critical we have the resources in place to ensure a safe and successful event. That's why we're requesting a SEAR Level 1 designation and the establishment of a White House Task Force.

Last night, I voted to pass the FY27 National Defense Authorization Act to strengthen our military's readiness, give our service members the support they deserve, and ensure America stays ahead of our adversaries.

The bill also includes my amendment to help prepare the Army for the next generation of military computing technology.

Tonight, the House took action to prevent a government shutdown by passing H.R. 9770, the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2027. This bill funds the government through December 4 while Congress works to finalize full-year appropriations.

I voted in favor of this clean, straightforward continuing resolution to protect the critical services Americans rely on while ensuring political games do not jeopardize the funding process.
