As Chair of the Assembly Workforce Development and Economic Opportunities Committee, I believe there are areas where we can find common ground to address our state's workforce crisis. This includes investing in programs that work while not expanding the size of bureaucracy.
The DNR reminds ice anglers that their ice shanties must be removed from Wisconsin-Iowa boundary waters by February 20th, and Wisconsin-Minnesota boundary waters must be removed by March 1st. For more information https://t.co/Qd64UdkP3r
Last week, I had the privilege of meeting with folks from the River Falls Chamber to discuss how to improve Wisconsin's economic potential. It is wonderful to see these members come together to make sure that policies in our state benefit Western Wisconsin.
The American Red cross is hosting a CPR Training session. First Aid - Including choking, and how to use a defibrillator, can help save a life. It's not just for healthcare workers and emergency responders. Fore more information https://t.co/0W4Vu17eRy
I'm happy to call the UW Eau-Claire my alma mater. The finest resource for students in is alumni. Amazing things occur when alumni interact with students, whether it is through the Blugold Connections network or by networking at the Madison State Capitol like we did last week.

I am concerned about a number of the gov.'s budget proposals, including his plans to substantially raise taxes. The budget must be tailored to the people of Western WI, which includes keeping taxes low for our families, investing in our rural schools, and broadband access.
The implementation of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in WI is moving to its next phase—a year-long campaign to make sure residents are aware that this free and confidential service is available to support people going through a suicidal, mental health, or substance use crisis.
Thank you to the Center for Independence's office visit last week to talk about the importance of greater funding for independent living facilities, which I support. This funding is critical because it assists people with disabilities in leading independent lives.
Today the Gov gives his budget address. The last budget passed reflected the values of the 93rd Assembly District, unlike the one he originally proposed 2 years ago that increased taxes by over $1 billion.
Last session the Gov vetoed legislation I supported that would help increase talent attraction and retention programs for veterans in Wisconsin. Wisconsin veterans are an important link to helping solve our workforce strategies as we help them transition into work.

Looking forward to the big game tonight? While the Packers are not in the game, did you know that 2 people from WI play for Kansas City; Leo Chenal and Melvin Gordon, and 17 players played for the Big 10?
Thank you Monica LaVold for visiting my office to talk about the importance of our local libraries. During the visit Monica talked about the great programs that the New Richmond library has for our community and the new initiatives they plan on rolling out.
February is American Heart Month. And it's, a good time for all of us to focus on our hearts and encourage our families, friends and communities to make heart health a priority. @AHAWisconsin#WIHearts
Please join me in celebrating Career and Technical Education Month - Technical education options in our state are essential in helping people not only explore a career, but also gain the skills and training that they need to get and keep their career right here in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin's Department of Revenue maintains an online database of all unclaimed property. Uncashed checks, security deposits, overpayments, and other items fall into this category. If you believe you are on the list, visit https://t.co/8H2bC5VpQ0 for more information.
I attended the Eau Claire Towns Meeting at the Pleasant Valley Town Hall last week. Great to hear from our local government officials regarding their concerns, ideas, and support for our State Budget efforts to help rural roads, safety personnel, and broadband expansion.
