Our children deserve every opportunity to succeed. I’m proud to join the Department of Justice in presenting over $1 million to the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project.

As its founder, I know this investment means more mentorship, more opportunities, and brighter futures for boys across South Florida. Thank you to the leaders across Miami-Dade whose partnership and commitment help our boys thrive.

Happy Birthday to our Vice President Kamala Harris! Wishing you a year filled with love, joy, and abundant blessings!

People will walk through The Obama Presidential Center and, when their visit is over, they will leave. I won’t. I am featured in the voting rights exhibit because I have spent my life fighting for a simple truth: our votes are our power, and no one has the right to take that power away.

My story will remain there. So will the charge to protect the vote.

When we invest in our students, we invest in the future of our entire community. I’m proud to have secured $850,000 for Miami Dade College to strengthen its programs and open more doors for students.

Thank you, President Madeline Pumariega and Dr. Malou C. Harrison, Executive Vice President and Provost, for your leadership, and to the community leaders who joined us in supporting our students’ success!

@ABurgessEdu @5000RoleBCPS I love love this 🩷

The world is watching Florida. The decisions made at the ballot box will shape the future of this state for generations to come. This election is too important to sit on the sidelines.

Every voice matters. Every vote counts.

As a former elementary school principal, my heart breaks for the families in Bend, Oregon. Every parent deserves to see their child come home from school. I’m praying for this community and everyone affected by this tragedy.

Our children deserve to be safe.

Don Lemon traveled to Miami Gardens, and it was wonderful to welcome him to Pumps, Pearls and Politics®! We had a powerful conversation about Florida’s future. Now, let’s take that energy to the ballot box!

Nolan Xavier Wells’ family deserves answers. I have called on the National Park Service to conduct a prompt, exhaustive investigation into his death on Horn Island, pursue every lead, and keep his family informed.

Nolan’s life mattered. His family’s search for the truth deserves the full weight of the federal government.

[Rep. Frederica Wilson @RepWilson]

Miami-Dade, this is your opportunity to be heard. Join Superintendent Rafael A. Villalobos for a series of town hall meetings across District 24 to share your voice, ask questions, and help shape the future of our public schools.

I’m proud to announce $8,824,314 in grants for four of Florida’s HBCUs: Florida Memorial University, Florida A&M University, Bethune-Cookman College, and Edward Waters College.

Our HBCUs have opened doors for generations of students and shaped leaders who changed this nation. They deserve the resources to keep opening those doors. I will always fight for their future.

Glaucoma can steal sight before symptoms appear. That’s why I introduced the Glaucoma Vision Act: to expand screenings, bring care to underserved communities, and invest in research.

Early detection can protect a lifetime of vision.
