I am pleased to be speaking about the land-focused #PlanetRepairs activism of the #ISMAR as part of a panel discussion on 'Land as #Reparations & How to get there' for the #JusticeHub at the Oxford Real Farming Conference @ORFC today...
Should Britain pay slavery reparations? @NewStatesman reviews the new podcast Heirs of Enslavement by @persephonica and asks the same question @labourlewis and I are exploring. https://t.co/6GkL7xj9bZ

Yes but reparations to whom? Reparations 4 existing Caribbean states or Afrikan people that were trafficked to the 'Americas' & elsewhere. In under 10 years what has ALWAYS been a #GlobalAfrikan claim has been reduced to a 'Caribbean' one which excludes #AfrikanHeritage Diasporas
Campaign for Truth and justice Presents! JAMMIN 4 JUSTICE Peckham Rye Park, London. SE15 3UA. Bank Holiday, 26th August 2023. From 1pm until 9pm. Honouring the EarthStrong of The Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey and in memory of Juliet Depass of JD Quizzine. Music By COBRA SOUND
Unfortunately when we ovastand the nature of Global white hegemony, it's far from shocking. Question is, what do we do about it since our protestations have fallen on soft white power deaf ears? Are we ready to build our own Higher Ed Institution as part of #Maatubuntujamaa UK?
Shocking news about Prof @hakimadi1, PhD supervisor of my research into the history of the International Social Movement for Afrikan Reparations (#ISMAR) in the UK see this video for an ISMAR analysis! https://t.co/YvJGikncm5… @ParcoeInfo@STOPMAANGAMIZI@ReparationMarch
Having been involved in co-organising London's first marking of the 23rd of August in between 2003 & 2007, it was an ancestral duty to participate in the @MayorofLondon & CAG organised commemoration of this key date in the commencement of the #AfrikanRevolution in #Haiti
Kidnapping is also a relevant term here where Genocide is a consequence. #Reparations education in UK is woefully low and minimised to finance and apologies. Pls invite our spokesperson @Xosei to set the record straight on your show. Come on 1st Aug to Windrush Sq to learn more!
@mrjamesob don't dehumanise us further by referring to our people as slaves or descendants of #Slaves. We're Afrikan https://t.co/ozhAFkaUG7 implies consensual equitable exchange. This wasn't that! Transatlantic Trafficking of Enslaved Afrikans is a preferred term.
When #Reparations isn't really Reparations:
"Rather, the practice of “repair” will be extended only to the elite cadres of private sector financiers, consultants, and scholars. Perhaps more than a top-down model — in which paltry “benefits” purportedly trickle down to the masses"
Today, for @CaribbeanClash, I wrote about the unseemly collaboration between the CARICOM Reparations Commission and Digicel founder Denis O’Brien. I trace the origins of O’Brien’s fortune, his ventures in Jamaica and Haiti, and his turn to reparations. https://t.co/12qtvndQRd
@chiuni, as a PUBLIC SCHOOL, teaching African history should not be a business decision
Outrage over UK university’s plan to cut African history course https://t.co/72NEl5YNHG via @YouTube@hakimadi1@MattersHistory@SaharaReporters
Respect to all who engaged with Aug. 1
groundings, masterclass and consultation in, and march from, Brixton (most impressed with reasonings by the non-African allies)✊🏾
and the remembrance in the Docklands
+ @BellRibeiroAddy who reached both locations!

Dr #WalterRodney quote is relevant to the struggle 4 #AfrikanReparations: "A struggle doesn’t drop from the sky; it has roots, it has been going on for years; people’s energies, their consciousness, their organizations have evolved in response to specific historical conditions"
