I love my wife, 4 rowdy kids and dog, America and my community. I would give my life for them all without regret. God bless, and thank you for letting me serve.
It wasn’t the Independence Day parade they planned for, but Florida’s Firefighter Pipes & Drums showed up for our 250th, and it was my honor to welcome them to Capitol Hill.
President Donald J. Trump International Airport has a nice ring to it. The airport code officially changes from PBI to DJT on July 9th.

I woke up early on July 4th to a call from my friend, mentor, and fellow Florida Congressman @RepBrianMast.
Brian had a problem — a group of his constituents were supposed to march in the Independence Day Parade, which had been cancelled due to the insane heat.
To try to salvage their day, Brian wanted to give them a private tour of the Capitol. One problem — a Member can only bring 100 people in at a time and this group was estimated at 150.
He asked if I’d throw on some clothes and head over to help get the group in.
Brian Mast is a war hero, and at some point he’ll learn that when he asks me to do something, he can just assume the answer is yes.
To my surprise, when I showed up, the group turned out to be kilt-wearing, bagpipe-playing firefighters, mostly from all over Florida, but from more than a dozen states too.
We got them into the Capitol, and in the Dome of our Democracy, these heroes decided to put on a performance of their own. No bagpipes, just voices.
The fireworks were great. But jumping out of bed to help these heroes get a private tour of our nation’s Capitol on Independence Day?
That was the highlight.
Thanks, Brian, for embodying the best of America and letting me play a tiny part in helping you yesterday.

Happy 250th to our great nation! Our Founding Fathers declared for the American people the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Our nation was built on the unshakable belief in freedom, and that still rings true today.
May we continue striving toward a more perfect union, may we be grateful for our freedom, and may God always bless the United States of America!
Parade or not, there's so much to celebrate today—I had the privilege of welcoming Florida’s Firefighter Pipes & Drums to the U.S. Capitol building. Thank you for carrying our traditions with duty and pride to honor the fallen.
The FL FF Pipes and Drums, flew to Washington D.C. to participate in the 4th of July Parade. The decision was made to cancel it due to extreme heat but our FF still received a warm welcome for their efforts to put on a great performance. They received a tour of the Capitol.
250 years ago, a brave group of PATRIOTS built the freest, strongest, and greatest nation the world has ever seen.
Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸🦅 #AMERICA250
From sea to shining sea, let freedom ring. Happy Independence Day!
We are blessed to live in a nation where we can wake up and decide that today will be better than yesterday, and tomorrow will be better than today. That’s what I will be celebrating.
Two lost summers. States of emergency. Deadly health consequences & shuttered businesses.
There’s been a massive effort to change how Florida’s waterways are managed. We won’t back down. See just how far we’ve come: https://t.co/4IRvzMLu9v
In 250 years, a lot has changed, but Florida’s abundant sunshine, sandy soil and subtropical climate haven’t, which is why our state is known for producing the juiciest citrus in the world! (Label courtesy of the @MuseumFLHistory.)
