Misinformation about vital criminal legal reform is being spread EVERYWHERE to impede our progress. We hope to debunk these false narratives, push us forward on non-reformist reform, & shine light on what public safety for ALL actually looks like.
We passed #SB300 (Cortese) on the Senate Floor! Thank you to the 27 Senators who voted AYE, @SenDaveCortese, all our co-authors, & every single person who took action to support this essential bill.
Our cosponsor group is determined to take #SB300 across the finish line!!
@joqatana Wow! Absolutely horrible. Housing should be a human right, for everyone! We can do so much better by our communities than paying over $100,000 to keep people caged, year after year.
According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), they estimate it will cost them $102,736 this year, for EVERY person within their system.
do a better job of keeping us all safe.
What do you think? What are ways you would like to see this money invested into our communities? Education? Housing? Wellness services to address physical and mental health needs?
