Strategic research, knowledge mobilization and communications firm using a people-first and data-driven approach to drive change. Also, more fun than most.
We were challenged with identifying opportunities for public and private investments in #obesity#prevention, so we sat down with 12 KOLs working in prevention research, program development and policy. The result? It's complicated. @EASOobesity

While there are certainly pockets of good discourse on what's left of Twitter, we prefer to share and connect on LinkedIn. (Best of luck to all those who persevere here, but we hope to see you there!).

@canva WHY can't I manually adjust row height in tables??? Like, just slide the line up to where I want it, in order to control how many cells I can fit onto a page? Maddening..... :(
more work needed to do to support Canadians living with obesity and related chronic diseases. more people living with obesity perceiving obesity as a chronic disease! A lot of work to do to address internalised weight bias https://t.co/4ftKvyUwy8 @ReplicaComms@ObesityCan
We said at the time the Chilean and Irish adaptations of Canadian adult #obesity guidelines were published that it "takes a village" to make these things happen. More like, it takes a small army. Find out what we learned together ⬇️
@YoniFreedhoff To say nothing of Canada having to care for ~39,000-~78,000 people with debilitating and enduring long COVID within shambolic and fragile LTC and healthcare systems.
Rejections should contain more info than "couldn't be verified based on the information provided" -- because i) we submitted all of the information and ii) if we knew what was wrong we could answer it...?? Respectfully, but frustrated :)
@googlenonprofit @WeArePercent-- can't understand why a nonprofit I support is not eligible for Workspace. I submitted documents that show we i) are a reg. nonprofit in Ontario, Canada ii) we have a Revenue Canada number and iii) I am an officer of the org. 1/2
While #Canada burns, maybe a better article for young people (& old) would be i) a historical overview of the political parties & corporations whose actions/inactions have fuelled climate change & ii) current parties'/corps.' policies/actions? @CBCNews

Health systems and #CulturalBias have built an almost impenetrable wall around #ObesityCare. Nine out of ten Rx's for #ObesityMeds never get filled says a new study in JMCP.

Transforming policy with good science without the interference of conflicting private/economic interests is clearly where our preoccupations ought to be regarding #climate. And #COVID. And #obesity. And on and on...
Warnings of melting ice caps, rising sea levels, acidification of water sources, rising temperatures etc. In a report to the US president. By a long list of brainiacs. In 1965. 1/3

"President Johnson found the report to be pertinent enough to not only be distributed to government agencies and officials, but also, due to its “general interest,” the public."
Is it easier to get a prescription that causes obesity than one that helps reverse it? So it seems, if you look at a new paper from @gudzune @JessicaBmoreMD & Erik Almazan.
Not good.

#SELECT trial reaffirms that obesity is an independent causal factor for CVD.
Given the results, society must determine how to appropriately allocate #semaglutide. Therefore, we must identify individuals most likely to benefit from this life-altering therapy.📸via NYT
So @CBCNews and @LaurenPelley get "immunity" into the subhead, and inject a fair bit of "let's just live with it" into the article, but in ~1500 words they make not a single mention of long #COVID and other lasting effects of infection.
