Major success for security forces in Manipur. Acting on intelligence inputs, joint search operations in #Kangpokpi district led to the recovery of a massive cache of arms and ammunition, including an M16 rifle, a sniper rifle, 25 single-barrel guns, seven pistols, grenades, detonators, communication equipment and ammunition.

In parallel operations, Manipur Police arrested two accused in separate narcotics and illegal arms cases, recovering 49.5 kg of opium, 530.66 g of brown sugar, a pump-action gun and ₹1.81 lakh in cash.

The coordinated crackdown underscores sustained efforts to dismantle insurgent infrastructure, curb drug trafficking and strengthen security across the state.

The Durand Cup fever is officially on in Manipur!

Today, to mark the kickoff of the #DurandCup2026 in Imphal, the Governor has declared a half-holiday, for all government offices, schools, PSUs and autonomous bodies across the state, encouraging people to fill the stands at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium for the Group D opener between local rivals TRAU FC and NEROCA FC.

The 135th Durand Cup runs July 25–August 23, featuring 24 teams across Kolkata, Ranchi, Imphal, Shillong and Guwahati.

The Imphal leg continues until August 12, with Group D also featuring the Indian Navy Football Team and FC Raengdai. The top teams advance to the knockouts, with the final set for August 23 at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata.
