I once participated in an advisory panel for an organization focused on men’s mental health.
We were about 10 minutes through the 90 minute session before the men running the panel started moving the conversation from ‘how can we help men’ to ‘how can we convince women to help men’.
This is why men struggle. Men don’t want to help other men, they want women to do it.
Men don’t provide support systems to other men, they want women to do that.
Even spaces that promote themselves as being ‘pro-men’ quickly just become ‘anti-woman’ while thinking that there’s no difference between those two perspectives.
Men recognize the areas that men need support, but instead of following it up by providing that support, they complain that women won’t do it. This fails men.
@MrSpookyWolff@_celia_bedelia_ So not only was this lady failing at being a woman by being tall, she was also failing at being British cause she wasn't rude AF?
@TansuYegen My parents were driving home from a wedding. My dad: "All our friends are getting married lately. Maybe we should too?" My mum: "Sure, why not. Whatever."
Happily married for 41 years til death did them part 🤷♀️
@atrupar On a sad side note: "She's very nice but not very smart" is propably the least disrespectful thing I've ever heard him say about any woman, including his wife
@fifss__ We met at university. To this day, he is the kindest, most helpful person I know. When I graduated, he *informed* me he was going to drop out and use my money to do good for others full-time.
@Lord_Chewie @SoufEastTee @CollinRugg Yes, she looks gorgeous! Rhat's the only reason she gets hired, cause she also has the charisma and acting talent of an umbrella stand 🤷♀️
@MandlanziSoweto@lokymann@MankoMash The thing is: Women who had deadbeat fathers and therefor don't trust men are not the same as misogynistic men whose single moms had to step up for the deadbeat fathers.
