So. No surprises but the basic update is that COVID-19 has cancelled all upcoming appearances and delayed both book 2 and the audiobook.
We all keep trucking along though. Stay safe! Wear your masks! Wash your hands! We want to see you all next year. #indieauthor#smallbusiness
“Oh, would you just relax already, Jack?” The standing one sniffed and rubbed his nose with one thumb. “It’s freakishly early in the morning. Everyone in town is still asleep, and I doubt even the Soldier is awake yet.” (Sleep 212, 6, 1-4)

May word of the month!!!
Dittography - n. - an accidental repetition of a letter, word, or phrase by a copyist
I’ve see “the” and “that” and other small words become examples of dittography in even my own work. #indieauthor#WritingCommunity#words#vocabulary
May’s Blog is up! This time, I talk about a few experiences I’ve had with well meaning people who are nevertheless a problem for an indie author.

For me: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Two men think they can test their own merits through playing games with people’s lives. The circus is a creation beyond imagine, but the dangers and repercussions are very much real.

Random quote time!
“[...] I’m bright red! Blood-red, baby! Revi’s grey all around. [...]” (Sleep, 57, 9, 4-6)
A telling opinion from Bitarsol, who’s also my icon. #indieauthor#bookquotes#colors#characters
April word of the month!
Relucent: adj. Reflecting, shining
Her gown was adorned with relucent fire opals, making every eye catch her dancing figure.

Well, I’ve been told to self-quarantine. Long story short: strong sudden symptoms but chronic illness and a recent not quite ending cold means uncertainty. Guess I’ll have time to edit Stand (book 2) and work on Thunder (book 4). What are your #WritingCommunity quarantine goals?
Now is a time to create and catch up and such. Creation and productivity are the best distractions!
And I will look on longingly from my day job, where I have been deemed “essential personnel” and where I have a higher risk of exposure. Yay healthcare administration.
To me, Bitarsol’s tea is nostalgic.A character I’ve spent most on my life on is presently perfectly in this tea. It is as familiar to me as the character itself and her inspirations.
Curious? Use Blend Bee to create some for yourself! Or find us at certain cons with sample cups!
It’s a sipping tea. It’s meant for long quiet sessions where it gives unexpected comfort and surprises you in waves. It stays in a subtle way past the strong start. As Pyro put it, “you think she’s a b!tch and then realize hey she’s not so bad after all”. #characterdesign#tea

The taste is complex. It’s fruity and sharp with an underlying bitterness of raw chocolate and licorice. The more you drink, the more familiar and almost comforting it becomes. Licorice and mint linger on your tongue, combining smoothing with every new sip. #tea#characterdesign

So what is Bitarsol’s tea?
It starts with a lure. It smells sweet and inviting, reminiscent of a baked good with vanilla and chocolate.
When you brew it, it comes an electric red (purple in my favorite travel mug). #tea#characterdesign#indieauthor#WritingCommunity

Then we looked for a custom tea blend-maker and chose Blend Bee.
From their list of ingredients, @PeekatPyro went for a combination of honestly unexpected flavors. She got it perfect on the first try.

My sense of smell is horrific so I had the help of @PeekatPyro, Bitarsol’s irl inspiration!
She has a literal crate full oftea and began by picking out her favorites, looking to Zingers and others with a unique tongue-smacking taste.
