loss doesn’t knock
it storms the walls
floods in purple
drops of blood
on the sidewalk
where you pray
?
the old porch
fell in years ago
the owner’s lost
a way
a talking head, silences
a walking widow, still
wearing white, waving
wisteria goodbyes, drapes
windows goodnight; lies
were gowns, vice
grip the body tight, vines
‘round broken things, climb
steal the light
but keep the ruins
warm
i tried to cut it
once
now
the door won’t lock
the walls are worse
for wear, windows
weep with rain
wash the chalk
off the sidewalk
where they prey
Jasper mocking me after I practiced my Baj voice 😂

Sales taught me this:
“Sales is the process of telling the truth in the most appealing manner.”
Writers, find your truth. You have to truly believe it.
Then sell it to yourself — and write like you’re selling the world. 12/
