We held a session at the #Engage2019 conference this week:
What do we want?
An engaged #ResearchRevolution!
When do we want it?
Now!
Here's the thrust of the views put forward and discussion that took place in a nutshell (or as the kids call it, a thread)👇
The #ResearchRevolutionaries were at the Engage conference yesterday. Marvellous to catch up with folks and see lots of new faces. We did a poster 🙃.....but next step is gonna be riotous....you can be riotous with a pack of post-it notes right? @NCCPE #Engage2022
Great to see UKRI sharing learning from a funding programme.
Shame that this evaluation of #CitizenScience projects doesn't include a single voice from a citizen participant.
NEWS 🗞️ | New evaluation of @UKRI_News-funded research projects seeks to better understand the value and scope of ‘citizen science.

But it does raise questions about differences & similarities between citizen science / participatory research / co-produced research. See definitions on p26.
We agree, @WilliamJHague. Improvement in diversity and inclusion practices have been essential in supporting the @Lionesses and para-sport.
So, surely diversity & inclusion should form a key part of the future science strategy too?

Here's a link back to the top of this surprisingly long thread for RTing. Pour yourself a coffee and have a read of these two important reports - what else is there to do in August?! https://t.co/502R2EXVEi
After the excitement of the @UKRI_News event about breaking down the barriers between research and society, we thought we'd bring it back to #ResearchCulture.
Are the #ResearchRevolutionaries dead excited about @UKRI_News event tomorrow: ‘Removing Barriers between research and society’? You bet we are! We’ll be there and live tweeting. Humour us whilst we take a wee jaunt down memory lane…
