Not every cat is easy.
Not every story is pretty.
That’s why we’re here.

Black Magic Animal Rescue specializes in the cats others give up on—seniors, medical cases, and “difficult” cats who still deserve love and stability.

We don’t rush outcomes. We build safe futures.

TRIPLE MATCH STARTS NOW!!!
SHOW OUR BMAR CATS TRIPLE THE LOVE WITH https://t.co/9n77uuU1hM'S 2:1 MATCH!!!

For World Animal Month, https://t.co/uwgJ54DKAf is adding $2 for every $1 you give to Black Magic Animal Rescue, on up to $2,000 of your first donation to us during the match.

Only your first gift is matched, so please give it all in one donation. Your $20 becomes $60, enough to spay or neuter, vaccinate, and microchip one cat. Already give monthly? Thank you so much. Your monthly gift isn't part of the match, but a one-time gift through the link below is.

This match couldn't come at a better time. We now have 27 of the 31 Stanfield cats in our care, and their caregivers are moving and can't take them along. We know we've been asking a lot lately, and we don't take your generosity for granted. But we've raised just $50 of the $1,900 these cats need for basic vet care, and we can't do it alone.

The match only lasts until https://t.co/uwgJ54DKAf's national fund runs out, and we expect that to happen fast. The sooner you give, the better the chance your gift is tripled!

➡️ Triple your gift here: https://t.co/ZGqMToIbVe

If donating isn't possible, sharing this post can help us reach someone who can. Thank you for every dollar, every share, and every person standing beside us.

A little Black Magic, times three. 🖤

We have a heartbreaking update about Sunny, the sick kitty we recently caught. 💔

We hoped we would be bringing you news that he was feeling better. Instead, we had to say goodbye.

After medication helped reduce the swelling in his throat, Sunny was able to have a more thorough exam. Our regular vet suspected a tumor, but Sunny became so distressed and struggled so badly to breathe that they couldn’t safely continue. After being turned away from two more offices, we finally found an emergency hospital that could examine him and determine whether surgery was possible.

What they found was devastating. Sunny’s trachea was severely torn, allowing air to escape into his neck and body. The vet did not believe it could be repaired. He also had a serious leg injury and multiple broken teeth. The vet explained that injuries like these are usually associated with severe physical trauma, though we don’t know what happened to him.

The medications were helping some of his symptoms, but they couldn’t heal the damage. With no realistic path to recovery, I made the heartbreaking decision to let Sunny go peacefully.

My daughter and I held him, cried, and said goodbye. We wanted him to feel loved and know he wasn’t alone. We brought him home to be buried.

I didn’t get to know Sunny for very long, but losing him has broken my heart. I wanted so badly for him to have a chance to heal and enjoy a safe, comfortable life. But I refuse to keep a cat here suffering just because of my personal feelings.

Thank you to everyone who cared about him and supported our efforts to help. I wish this update could have been different.

Rest gently, Sunny. You mattered, and you were loved. 🌈🐾

🚨 Emergency Care Needed 🚨

I know. There have been so many cats in need lately. But we couldn't ignore this sweet face and leave him on the streets. This poor boy is very sick and needs our help. He is showing signs of pneumonia and needs urgent veterinary care and treatment to give him a chance to improve.

We’re asking our community to help Black Magic Animal Rescue cover his emergency care. Any amount—even $5—will help us get him the treatment he needs. We don’t yet know what his full care will cost, but we know he needs help now.

🐾 Donate here: https://t.co/ZkgFRZFtnH

If you can’t donate, please share this post to help us reach someone who can. Thank you for helping us give this boy a chance to feel better, rest comfortably, and be cared for. 🖤

Our shelves are empty, and our cats are hungry. 🐾

The supply shelves are bare, and we need your help to keep every cat fed, warm, and cared for. The spring kittens are coming of age to have their own litters of kittens. And we are feeling the pressure of all of the extra mouths to feed. Our rescue uses almost 500lbs of dry cat food alone every month. On top of our usual supplies, we need extra kitten supplies for all of the babies that have found their way here.

Here's how you can help:
🐱 Donate: https://t.co/aG31xY54kj Every dollar goes straight to food, litter, and vet care.
📦 Drop off supplies: Message for address! We need wet and dry cat food, clumping litter, and towel/sheets/blankets.
🛒 Amazon wishlist: https://t.co/NW6K75776U Have it shipped straight to us.
📣 Share this post. It costs nothing and could reach someone who can help.

Thank you for being part of our rescue family 🖤

Meet Hocus and Pocus! 🖤✨

Over the past week, several litters of kittens have been surrendered to our rescue. One was just these two tiny babies, found in a makeshift nest of trash and leaves, covered in fire ants. There was no sign of mama returning.

By the time they reached us, they were exhausted. Their ant bites and umbilical cords had become infected, and they needed help right away.

Now, Hocus and Pocus are on antibiotics, warm in the incubator, and thriving with round-the-clock care. They aren’t out of the woods yet, but we’re giving them every chance to grow up healthy and loved.

Keep these little ones in your thoughts as they continue to fight. We’re so glad they’re here. 🐾

🍼 Tiny kittens. Around-the-clock feedings. A growing need for supplies.

We have extra neonatal kittens depending on us right now, and we urgently need kitten milk and incubators. Our second incubator was damaged in storage, and replacing it is a big expense on top of everything else.

These little ones need full bellies, warmth, and a whole lot of care. You can help us provide that by sending something from our updated October wishlist.

Whether it’s milk or a contribution toward a bigger supply need, your help matters. 🖤

Good morning from Beven!

Thank you to everyone who has donated toward Beven’s care. ❤️

Not long ago, he was losing weight and struggling to eat. Now he has food that’s easy to chew with his limited teeth, and he’s enjoying his meals again. Seeing him eat comfortably means so much. And he's even gaining weight back! He is no longer sleeping on the cold floor now he has a bed he enjoys. We’re grateful you helped make that possible. 🐾

Why do we sometimes relocate feral cats?

Most of the time, it’s because they’re in danger where they are. Relocation is a big change for a community cat, so we don’t make that decision lightly. But when staying put isn’t safe, we want to give that cat another chance.

Some of these cats are placed as barn or working cats. The adoption fee is $50, which covers the cost of their spay or neuter. We aren’t profiting from cats in difficult situations. We’re trying to get them somewhere they can be safe and cared for.

A new location takes time to feel like home. That’s why we provide acclimation steps and ask adopters to follow them closely. When they do, these placements are almost always successful.

These cats may never want to curl up on a couch, but they still deserve a safe place to land. 🖤🐈‍⬛

Looking to add some spooky vibes to your home? 🎃

Consider adopting Sally 🖤 She is still available 😮 Disclaimer: she is deaf. Sometimes she doesn't realize exactly how loud she is. But her sweetness will win you over. Other cats scare her, so she would need a very slow introduction or be an only cat. She grew up with Jack, but after losing her home, she hasn't enjoyed his company.

This is exactly why raising funds for medical care is so important.

We recently rescued this tiny mother cat and her grown kittens after they were found living in a Home Depot parking lot. This sweet mama was still wearing her jeweled collar—a reminder that she may have once had a home and people of her own.

There are always more cats waiting for help. They don’t stop needing rescue simply because the money isn’t there, and sometimes we have to step in before we know how we’re going to cover the cost.

Thanks to some incredibly kind donors, we’ve raised $360 of our $1,000 goal for medical care. We are so grateful to everyone who has already helped, but with these new cats now in our care, we need to make another push.

We still have $640 left to raise. If you can donate—even just a few dollars—it will help provide exams, vaccinations, testing, spay/neuter surgeries, medications, and any other care they may need.

If you can’t donate, please share. Every donation and every share helps us keep saying yes when another cat needs us. 🖤🐾

We don’t like asking for help, but we can’t continue this work without our community.

Every day, we’re feeding cats, purchasing litter and medication, arranging veterinary care, trapping community cats, and helping animals who have nowhere else to turn. Even the smallest expenses add up quickly—and lately, they’ve been adding up faster than donations are coming in.

If you can spare even $5 or send one item from our wishlists, it would make a real difference. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this post helps more than you may realize. 🖤🐾

We hope you have a safe, relaxing Labor Day filled with plenty of cat naps! 🐈‍⬛💛

💛 Please Give Jack & Sally a Chance 💛

Jack and Sally’s world changed suddenly when their beloved owner developed dementia and had to move into a group home. She lost her home—and, heartbreakingly, could no longer keep the two cats she loved so dearly.

Her daughter reached out to us for help, and we were able to safely catch Jack and Sally just as the house was sold and being transferred to its new owner. They are safe now, but they are understandably frightened and confused. They have lost their person, their home, and everything familiar to them.

🐾 Jack is an 11-year-old, long-haired black-and-white male.

🐾 Sally is a 4-year-old, short-haired white female who is partially deaf.

These two have been together for Sally’s entire life and rely on one another for comfort. We are looking for a patient, compassionate home where they can stay together and be given the time they need to feel safe again.

They may not immediately show you who they truly are. Right now, they are grieving and adjusting to an enormous change. But with patience, kindness, and a quiet place to decompress, we believe they can begin to heal.

Please don’t overlook them because they are scared. Jack and Sally have already lost so much—they shouldn’t have to lose each other, too.

Please give these two beloved cats the second chance they deserve. 💛
