I’m glad that supporters groups @SellBeforeWeDai and @STARReading have joined me in calling for a parliamentary inquiry into #readingfc's absent owner, Dai Yongge. (1/4)
Of all the next potential twists in football's descent into the commercial abyss, Jürgen Klopp to marketeering Austrian energy drink manufacturer feels quite unexpected, but maybe we shouldn't be surprised. Still, not even he can change the fact that #Leipzig is blau-gelb.

Unsurprising but so disappointing. Was a fantastic effort to avoid double relegation, and now this. Any new owners need to address this. #sellbeforewedai

Something so Romantic about snooker. Remembering the time I went to Bayern Munich's colossal stadium Museum-merch shop-restaurant complex, and still ended up eating chips watching snooker as if I was in a caff in Reading instead of one of the biggest arenas in Europe.

A Matty Carson stunner and a brace from Jeremiah Okine-Peters means our U21s will be playing European football next year! 🥳

Events at #ReadingFC highlight need for independent regulator to protect fans from errant owners like Dai Yongge. Debts, fines, points deductions, shambles. "Throughout our campaign we’ve become increasingly aware of just how little protection football fans have from bad ownership,” Caroline Parker @SellBeforeWeDai.
"In our view, an independent regulator cannot come soon enough and though that still may be too late for Reading Football Club, we sincerely hope its creation will stop other football fans from going through what we have.
"As always, the devil is in the detail and we’ll take time to read this publication properly. It could be a game changer for our beautiful game though. If the independent regulator would like a test case, or would like to learn from our experiences, they know where we are."
Independent regulation long overdue, but if they're not able to intervene reasonably in situations like #readingfc then it will feel exactly like existing administration bodies either in the sway of, or unwilling/powerless to change, the status quo and power of football money.
Some notes of caution from @FairGameUK on the Football Governance Bill and the incoming football regulator (IREF).
"In the last couple of weeks, we have met ministers, and repeatedly we have failed to get assurances that the regulator will have the power to intervene.”
At what point in the future do clubs just stop providing any information to fans? Terrible decision, or at least the processes that led to it, terrible statement, dire situation. Nothing left.
