Recent work examined how moral impressions are updated. Across 6 studies, Siegal et al., (2018) found that 1st impressions of bad ppl are more subject to change than of good ppl, primarily when ensuing actions were moral. #benefitofthedoubt#prosemtweet https://t.co/VD9X7S33uZ
How do we update knowledge? Pine & colleagues (2018) demonstrate the importance of prediction errors in semantic information updating - new info that counters strongly held beliefs facilitates info updating (even when that new info is false!) #prosemtweet https://t.co/wJIQcqyiAr
Divisive normalization predicts social evaluations. Furl (2016) studied Ps' attractiveness and averageness judgments of faces and found that the more 1 face deviated from 2 others, the more sensitive Ps were to trait differences in the faces. #prosemtweet https://t.co/K5bgJfnGeX

It's advice season for incoming PhD students. Some things I'd have liked to know sooner than I did:
*Treat old friendships like awesome plants. Nurture them, even when you're busy.
*Find a therapist you like/on your insurance—early. It's harder to seek help when you NEED help.
