2) Why did @iitbombay circulate unverified footage? If the videos are still not conclusively confirmed, their public release raises serious questions about evidence handling, integrity and possible tampering at a renowned institution.

3) Our demand is about caste-based discrimination and harassment. The real question is: why is the so-called “GODI MEDIA” focusing on and circulating this particular footage instead of addressing the actual issue?

4) If the videos circulated by so-called “GODI MEDIA” are proven to be false, fabricated, or deliberately misleading, accountability should extend across the entire chain from the reporters who produced them to the editors who approved and broadcast them. Where the legal ingredients are satisfied, those responsible should face action under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other applicable laws.

How many more apologies from @iitbombay? India’s top institutions must uphold accountability and responsibility.

The sheer stupidity is staggering.
A basic Google reverse image search is all it takes to prove that “house” is a commercial Kerala resort or homestay in Pathanamthitta , not some modest family home belonging to her mythical ST friend who supposedly leveraged reservation for NIT, a PSU job, and then IIM.
She fabricated an entire sob-story around a tourist property and expected no one to notice.

It’s always this superior casteist mindset that turns discipline into humiliation when dealing with students from marginalised backgrounds.

Last year an IIT-B student caught cheating with a smartphone and smartwatch was allowed to finish the exam, given zero for the portions where he used the phone and asked to submit an apology and undertaking. The matter was handled privately.

Punishment never required humiliation. So why did discipline become an excuse for threats, public humiliation and character assassination in Sahil’s case?

The difference in treatment is pretty telling.
