It's #TuesdayaboutTown! This week, we're digitally dropping by SLOTH... no, not that kind of sloth ๐ The Stroud Library of Things is perfect for anyone planning DIY or drinks over the warmer weekends to come - you can borrow anything from power tools to party kit! ๐ #stroud
SLOTH is a grassroots lending library for the Stroud community, supported by Stroud Funding and hosted at 10 John Street by @cscicorg ๐ค John Street also hosts mobile device repair workshops, digital support sessions, and the Access @BikeStroud project ๐ฒ
Feeling summer in the air? Us too! And what better way to spend get midsummer-ready than by tuning up the old two-wheeler for more sunny days to come? ๐ค๏ธ That's why we took this #TuesdayaboutTown to pay a virtual visit to the Cambridge Cycling Campaign, also known as @camcycle...
@camcycle@Outspokencycle For more info on CamCycle campaigns and discounts, you can drop in on them at their pub social on 3rd June or at the @ArburyCarnival, Chesterton Festival, or Histon & Impington Feast, taking place over the rest of the month ๐ช
What did everyone get up to on their bank holiday weekend? ๐ฆ๏ธ We took an extra day this #TuesdayaboutTown to check out the awesome work over at @YorkTogether, a community group tackling social injustice across the city โ making it a better place for everyone who lives there ๐๏ธ
@YorkTogether@Bluebird_bakery At the end of the evening, all community members can vote on which proposal they think should be prioritised โ funds from tickets sales are distributed among the projects accordingly ๐ณ๏ธ
This #TuesdayaboutTown, why not make the most of the spring sunshine and head outside? ๐ค๏ธ So, let's pay a virtual visit to Avon Views, a @RootsAllotments site in Bathford: the original no-dig allotment that kick-started Roots' mission to make gardening more accessible! ๐ฉโ๐พ
@RootsAllotments Roots Allotments across the UK offer plots plus ALL seeds, tools, and training in no-dig gardening from less than ยฃ10 per month ๐ธ They also consistently give back to their communities through partner projects such as @CropDropBanes, @VenturersAc, and @bathymca ๐ฅ
It is #WebNewsday, my dudes! The Webs keep coming & they don't stop coming... Last week it was Carmarthen, this week it's Stroud ๐ธ Gloucestershire is home to a great many climate action networks, including Berkeley Vale, Chalford, Dursley, Horsley... ๐คฏ Not to mention @TTStroud!
@TTStroud The Stroud Resilience Web connects these networks to each other and to other local groups and businesses, including make-do-and-menders like @AtelierStroud, conservationists such as @gloswildlife and @WildStroud, gardeners at @LCMGCIC, and many many more! ๐ค
Yesterday, we spent our #TuesdayaboutTown in Gloucestershire โ visiting the Trinity Rooms Community Hub (@Stroud_TRCH), part of the new Stroud Resilience Web ๐ฅ The Rooms are home to a pay-as-you-can community pantry, as part of the Hubbub Community Fridge Network ๐ง
@Stroud_TRCH Trinity Rooms also host a range of community events, including monthly repair cafรฉs and a weekly club run by @AtelierStroud ๐ชก Shout-out to Stroud Earth Community for building this fantastic hub for climate and community in the Stroud area!
