@TheDroneSangoma@UAVHive@amazon What if Johnny lives in a children's home? Or he has crap parents? Anyway, why should Johnny's parents pay for @amazon's underwear delivery service?
@TheDroneSangoma@amazon And sorry Gary, I'm not the kind of person who takes the attitude that we could have it worse. It's not like voting for a political party where you vote for the one who will f**k you least. We need to be able to hold them to account, and stop this narritive that UTM is for safety
Here you have it people. If you don't accept UTM being forced upon you by government, @amazon won't be able to deliver you your underwear by drone #WolfInSheepsClothing
@ResistanceDrone@drone_operators@NATS UTM is about communication: connecting drone pilots to airports and ANSPs, so that the sky can be opened to more creative drone use both now and in the future. If you don’t think communication and collaboration is key, the industry we all know and love won’t ever take off.
@TheDroneSangoma@amazon What we want is for @altitudeangel to build the right UTM for us. They are sitting quiet about @NATS for obvious reasons - they are heavily conflicted. NATS say jump, AA say how high. Unless we hold AA to account, NATS will have an easy ride and we'll get the UTM we deserve
My gripe isn't actually with @altitudeangel as a company as they are generally good people. It's more about their conflicts of interest. There has been a complete lack of response from AA to @NATS recent statements which shows it clear as day. NATS call the shots
@ramboslice__@altitudeangel@drone_operators@NATS@ThalesUK@amazon If people don't start saying something now, it will be too late. Everyone will have to use it, I know that is pretty much set in stone. As for who pays, that is being decided now. Drone Registration part 2
@ramboslice__@drone_operators Why do you keep deleting and rewriting your tweets? It's okay to get things wrong. And no, it's not just about BVLOS. I'll put £10,000 on it if you want to take the bet?
@NATS Who is responsible for this fiasco? NATS must have an approval rating from drone pilots worse than the @realDonaldTrump. Completely idiotic thing to do given your recent trip up with Andy Sage. The drone community is watching you, and we are waiting for our moment. Be careful ;)
@gorilladrones@GazTheJourno@ramboslice__@UAVHive@dronelaws@NATS@altitudeangel@amazon Notifying these parties is fine. I have no problem with them being notified. The low level military phone number will take care of that. If GA pilots are flying that low: 1) You will have time to get out of the way, 2) They are acting recklessly and breaking the law
@UAVHive Edit: "no current need for"
UTM will be needed once we have electronic conspicuity (i.e. collision avoidance), BVLOS regulations, and airspace sorted
@UAVHive@ramboslice__@gorilladrones@dronelaws@NATS@altitudeangel@amazon You never heard of "good cop, bad cop"?
AA cannot say it because they will fold if they do. NATS are the front end of all of this and are doing the dirty work. Once the risks are gone and government force operators to use AA, NATS will buy them
@GazTheJourno@ramboslice__@gorilladrones@UAVHive@dronelaws@NATS@altitudeangel@amazon No, there is a big difference. We should pay for services, not for access to airspace. The cost of services needed for safety reasons for Class G is negligible. If you consider UTM as a safety issue, then it changes everything and costs go up massively
@UAVHive@ramboslice__@gorilladrones@dronelaws@NATS@altitudeangel@amazon Unfortunately they are in cahoots with NATS so I can't trust them. If we accept the safety argument for UTM, trust me, this will not end well. UTM is a commercial opportunity. If we allow them to sneak the safety argument in there, government will get involved (i.e. NATS)
