@kamalbabiker8@RuthNesoba While other countries built new & beautiful capital cities and pushed smart programs after their civil wars,Sudan's leadership in the 1980s focused on the wrong priorities,Al bashir was definitely the worst of these leaders and the barbaric RSF is part of his regimes legacy
@MohanadElbalal Managing an economy in war is extremelytough especially during a serious war of immense consequences like the current one.The RSF is definitely the biggest mistake in Sudan's history
As global trade dynamics continue to shift, Africa faces a defining moment. Rising protectionism, evolving geopolitical alliances, and increasing market fragmentation are reshaping traditional trade relationships, creating both challenges and opportunities for the continent.
Speaking during the Invest Africa - Africa Debate Session on Navigating a New Trade Paradigm, Mr. Haytham El Maayergi, Executive Vice President, Global Trade Bank at Afreximbank, highlighted the importance of accelerating industrialisation, expanding value-added production, and deepening intra-African trade as the continent adapts to a rapidly evolving global trade landscape.
As traditional trade patterns shift and global markets become increasingly fragmented, Africa has an opportunity to strengthen regional value chains, attract investment, and unlock the full potential of the AfCFTA.
The conversation underscored the importance of strategic partnerships, trade-enabling infrastructure, and long-term investment in building a more resilient, competitive, and globally connected African economy.
With Africa's trade reaching US$1.5 trillion in 2024, the focus must now be on translating opportunity into action and ensuring the continent captures greater value from its resources, industries, and growing markets.
