Inspired by her younger sister, who has Down syndrome, and in memory of her late mother, Sinit founded “Designing for Diversity,” a non-profit initiative dedicated to dismantling educational barriers for neurodivergent children and integrating students with special needs into mainstream classrooms. #Eritrea's 35th Independence Anniversary will be celebrated under the fitting theme: "Our Resilience: Our Guarantee".

The mantra is indeed a perfect epitome for the odyssey/historical trajectory of two Eritrean generations - the Yikaalo and Warsai generations - who had to summon and display unparalleled heroism and resilience and who were compelled to pay, in the process, precious sacrifices to ascertain and later protect their inviolable rights of decolonization and nationhood.

Indeed, the small nation had to endure and suffer under stifling and over-arching geopolitical calculus of major powers in the 1940s to be entangled in a bogus "Federal Arrangement" that soon degenerated into blatant annexation; conduct Africa's longest armed struggle for liberation after all its legal and peaceful pleas for redress were utterly ignored; face, in the aftermath of independence, imposed wars of destabilization against its sovereignty and territorial integrity; and, grapple with associated hostilities including unwarranted sanctions as well as subtle subterfuges of "strategic depopulation", unremitting defamation, etc. ርዝነት ናጽነትና እምበኣር ብዝሓለፎ ከቢድን መዘና-ኣልቦን ጉዕዞ'ዩ ዝትመን!

President Isaias Afwerki and his delegation made a tour of the new Administrative Capital in the Cairo Governorate and the various Public Service Pavilions and infrastructures under construction. Discussions centered on prospective areas of broad cooperation.

President Isaias Afwerki received, at the Denden Guest House in the early evening hours today, credentials of the Ambassadors of Japan and India (both Resident); and, the Ambassadors of Brazil, Slovakia, Canada, Thailand and Armenia (Non-Resident) respectively.

The Ambassadors conveyed messages of goodwill from their Heads of State and Government to President Isaias Afwerki and expressed the readiness of their countries to enhance all-rounded ties of bilateral cooperation.

In statements to the Eritrean News Agency, the Ambassadors of India and Canada emphasized the commitment of their respective countries to promote and consolidate development cooperation and partnership with Eritrea in various sectors.

Condolences: Legendary and iconic artist, Bereket Mengisteab, has passed away at the age of 84 after a long illness.

Gifted with many artistic talents - singer, musician, composer and poet - Bereket was instrumental, with other contemporary artists, in the popularization of Eritrea's epic struggle for liberation with his vibrant revolutionary songs and patriotic lyrics.

Bereket's role transcended the realm of music. He was a member of the ELM movement at an early age in 1958. Later he joined the ELF in 1975 and was Head of its Department of Culture until 1979.

Bereket returned home in 1993 and continued to serve his nation and people as one Eritrea's great artists under the umbrella of the Commission of Culture and Sport.
