"What can be provided from Northeast BC is literally in the trillions of dollars worth of economic opportunity for this province."
@LarryNeufeldCon, MLA for Peace River South, on why the transition to a zero-carbon economy will take far longer than people want to believe, and what the trillions coming from natural resources pay for: healthcare, education and quality of life for people across the province

Team BC in Ottawa to advance partnership on $79 Billion in critical minerals and mining development.
Today, a delegation from @MA_BC, including members from @TeckResources, @TasekoMines, @CenterraGold, @SeabridgeInc, @FPX_Nickel and @elkvalleyr@GlencoreCanada joined @JagrupBrar1, Minister of Mining and Critical Minerals in Ottawa as part of a ‘Team BC’ effort to advance major mining projects and strengthen Canada’s economic and national security.
British Columbia is uniquely positioned to lead:
🔹 19 of Canada’s 34 critical minerals are found or produced in BC
🔹 31 major projects in development,(~$79B in potential economic activity)
🔹 Canada’s leading producer of copper and steelmaking coal
Recent project approvals show progress—but faster, more coordinated permitting between federal and provincial governments will be key to maintaining momentum and attracting global investment.
A strong, coordinated approach between governments is essential if Canada is going to fully unlock the potential of critical minerals.

“These projects represent over $41 billion in near-term investment, tens of thousands of new jobs… and $21 billion in tax revenue for governments,”
That's what @MA_BC president @goehring_m said of 31 critical mineral, metal and steelmaking coal projects at a press conference in Ottawa this morning.
But the boom is at risk from UNDRIP lawfare. Their ask: restore certainty on Section 35, and clarify that Aboriginal rights don't extend to U.S. tribes.

At 4:51pm on May 28th as the BC Legislature was adjourning for summer, BC Hydro’s plan to keep the lights on in 2030 was posted on the BC Utilities Commission website. Amazing coincidence!
Is there something the BC Government hopes you don’t notice?

A quarter of the world lives in energy poverty. Some African countries use the same amount of electricity in a year as California uses to heat its hot tubs.

Resources and innovation are not rivals.
MLA for Kelowna-Mission @gavindew has a portfolio that spans everything from permitting to skills training and he rejects the idea that resource industries and innovation exist in tension. The real opportunity lies in combining the two to deliver both sustainability and growth and create high-skilled, tech-enabled jobs.

Four years after a brazen attack on a Coastal GasLink Pipeline worksite by anarchists, there are still no arrests.
As global investors consider potential investment decisions in projects like LNG Canada Phase 2 & Ksi Lisims LNG, they want to know that public safety and the rule of law are paramount.
How are investors in major projects supposed to trust that people and assets will be safe if the BC Government can’t prosecute an act of domestic terror?
Investors require certainty, and they’re not getting it under a BC NDP Government.
