@BrianaWhitney
Why the rationalization for hate & cruelty for those humans who have no place for safety or shelter? FYI, Sheriff laws are more protective of animals than homeless.Should we just offer Euthanization & put them out of misery for all? #NIMBY

@rene_skelly@akhan1437 Hickmans eggs in Arizona is an example of that. State of Arizona Department of Corrections is paid by Hickmans for prison labor. Workers are paid very little by DOC, are charged "income taxes," work and live in unsafe conditions (including working even if had Covid symptoms.)
Stop whatever you're doing because nothing is more important than the 1 min 54 secs of your time to watch this.
@Cleavon_MD , my New York heart is with you tonight.
#COVID19 in America.
@MariaSteier @newsjunkyjimmy @ShawnInArizona @/AZCorrections Director Shinn wouldn't even allow the officers under his care to wear masks. This could have helped decrease the state of Arizona spread (most all other essential workers were wearing them) as well as the spread among prison employees & those living in prisons.
We have published more than 100 Arizona Prison Health Care stories since I started covering the beat in March of 2017. Now they are all located in one place. Bookmark this page for continued coverage and updates on the latest COVID-19 testing and results https://t.co/bbYq85NjiA

THIS is the majority of the foundation (along w/prevention) to be laid for both reformists' & abolitionists' aspirations.
Without this pair of glasses to see clearly through we all look irrational, bleeding heart, over-emotional, guilty by association, blind to victims, etc.
“Most people who enter prison are one day going to get out. And they’re going to be living in free society. So it’s incumbent upon us to make sure that the prison experience is more rehabilitative than it is just purely destructive.”

The Constitution requires medical care for those we incarcerate.
Prisons have limited medical staff & equipment.
Since CDC #COVID19 guidelines are not tailored to correctional settings,
incarcerated ppl end up going into same hospitals we use. Along w/ 2 officers each shift.
.@ARShalomACLU: “Lots of people will unnecessarily be in hospitals. They’ll be on ventilators. If you don’t care about incarcerated people...you should care about your grandmother who’s no longer going to have access to a ventilator.”

@cstruble57 @JoshuaBHoe I believe it is also those in society who thrive on the negative in general &in relation to those arrested or convicted of crimes. TV & movies have an abundance of crime drama.We're born &raised on"Lock them up" as THE (only) solution, forgetting re release-being better or worse.
