Remember when Glenn Diesen co-authored an article with Norwegian Arne Treholt who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the crime of spying for Moscow? Treholt was directly collaborating with a KGB handler. In the last four or five years we have discussed the use of nuclear weapons more than I have in the previous fifty years combined.Russia has rejected peace talks.

They do not want to negotiate with Zelensky because every time we approach a ceasefire or any real discussion about ending this war, Ukraine attacks Russian energy infrastructure.

Then comes the tit for tat.

Then the cycle continues. The longer this goes on, the closer we get to the unthinkable. There is no such thing as a tactical nuclear weapon. Once that line is crossed, everything changes.

Who fires first, Russia, Ukraine, North Korea, or someone else?

We are playing with fire, and the consequences will not stay contained to Eastern Europe.This has to stop.

Endless escalation is not a strategy. Real negotiations without constant provocations are the only way to avoid a disaster none of us want to see.
