You didn't choose conventional medicine because it's the only thing that works.

You chose it because it's the only thing that survived.

In 1910, a single report didn't just close bad schools.

It closed the door on choice itself.

Before that year, someone with a health concern had real options: physicians trained in botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutrition-based practice, and conventional treatment, all licensed, all legitimate.

Within a generation, nearly all of those options were gone.

Not because patients rejected them.

Because the funding and licensing system made it impossible for them to keep existing.

The report labeled every alternative "unscientific" in the same paragraph, then a wave of philanthropic money made sure only one model could afford to survive.

Public opinion didn't shift on its own.

It was shaped by which options were still standing to be chosen from.

What looks today like "people trust conventional medicine more" isn't really a free choice being made.

It's the after-effect of a choice made for the public over a century ago, one option left on the table, presented as the only one that was ever there.

Not because the alternatives failed the people who used them.

But because they were never given the chance to fail or succeed on equal footing.
