With Lagan Valley being recently named as one of the areas most in need of AEDs our cardiac rehab patients in Lisburn completed their CPR training as part of their cardiac rehab programme and can act confidently in an emergency.

People in deprived areas are:
- less likely to receive bystander CPR,
- less likely to access a defib,
- and less likely to survive cardiac arrest.
This isn’t chance, it’s inequality.
We’re committed to changing this, because where you live or what your background is should not determine your survival.

Defibs significantly increase the chance of surviving a cardiac arrest, yet in 2023, they were used in just 8.3% of cases outside hospitals.
This is why greater public awareness and education is needed. These devices save lives, but only if people have the confidence to use them.
