Yesterday was our #mswcelebrationday2024. Our lead maternity support worker Hannah organised some beautiful gifts for our MSW’s, including cards full of personal feedback and thanks to each of our team. So thoughtful and so deserved. Our MSW’s are invaluable 💙

Another year on and Oct 2024’s midwifery turnover rate has dropped to 3.04%…the first time it has been under 5% in over 4 years. In the last 24months we have seen a 20% decrease in turnover. What a difference 2 years makes….🫶💙

Big congrats to our 8 of our MWs who have just completed their Preceptorship Programme - The Chrysalis Project. They will now receive their butterfly pins 🐛🦋 our CSF Claire has worked hard improving this programme for our NQ MWs to support and nurture them on their journey!
Our programme includes:
- monthly RCS with the PMA team
- study sessions on BF, diabetes, pelvic health, emergency skills, epidurals, patient safety
- talks from inspiring leaders
- mindfulness
- feminism and spirituality in midwifery
- QI projects

Congrats to our MSW Yvette who has been awarded a CMidO MSW Award. This was for her exceptional leadership, compassion and dedication to improving the retention, skills and training for MSW’s. Thank you to our Regional Chief MW @midwifehelen who joined us to present the award 🥳
We are pleased to share with our maternity staff today that after 8 months of trials, we will be implementing flexible rostering on a permanent basis! With around 150 midwives and 30 MSWs we have shown self rostering on this scale can be done #maternityretention#flexibleworking
