Anyone in LA looking for a startup gig? We’re investing in a healthcare company that’s looking for its first product designer. Drop your portfolio below or send me a DM if you’re interested 🙌
Something I see designers struggle with is not being comfortable with their own point of view. It's ok to have an opinion. It's also ok if that opinion is later 'wrong' and you change your mind.
I used to be diplomatic to a fault. People-pleasing. I could 'see both sides' of any discussion and it probably did me more harm than good. As soon as I started to be more decisive and firm with my pov, I was more respected in the workplace.
Sound like you? It's totally normal to go through this, especially as designers who are balancing product, design, eng. requirements, copy, etc.

I had a blast sharing some of my thoughts around the future of AI and the design industry at #config2023 this morning, and tease some early work we've been exploring @figma in this space.
Here's a summary of what I shared on stage 🧵
Many designers struggle to get out of the pixel-work and actually being influential in their companies and projects. A few tips on ways I've been, and seen others be successful at achieving this...
🧪How to measure experimentations? — from Notion AI engineer @thesephist
For high variance, low structure experimentations, the artifact/measurement shouldn’t be code/releases
But a map of explored space — checks and Xs of what works, what doesn’t
Record the decisions, prototypes & docs that explore the problem/solution space.
Thanks @RethinkTalks for hosting such an inspiring and intimate dinner
Crazy how you need to be exceptional, continuously promoted, at the top of your game, with multiple side-hustles to achieve the things your parents could do with a shoe salesman income.
We’re hiring our next product designer at OpenAI to help ChatGPT reach its full potential. I believe we're at an inflection point for human-computer interaction, and this is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter. https://t.co/X0HBdQOYlQ
