Sydney Marathon HPP only accepts times from AIMS-certified marathons (not USATF). So only six in the US will qualify for the HPP:

AIMS is a paid membership club and not many US races are interested. It's Sydney's decidion.

Now 600 Sub-Elite (fastest overall by gender) + 600 Good for Age (fastest in age/gender).

Standards tightened too — e.g. men 18–34 now 2:45 (was 2:53 in 2026). Apps: Mon Sep 14 noon AEST → Fri Sep 18 5pm AEST; results early November. Unsuccessful HPP apps roll into the ballot.

Qualifying Times: Must have been achieved in an AIMS-certified marathon since July 1, 2025.

Eugene Marathon hits a registration record for its 20th anniversary. Organizers say early entries for the Apr 23–25, 2027 weekend are at an all-time high, and they’ve partnered with Let’s Do This for registration/ops.

Boston 2027 qualifier registration opens Monday. Athletes’ Village window is Sep 14–18 (closes 5pm ET Fri the 18th). Not first-come.

New for 2027: Boston Qualifier Selection randomly awards ~1,000 bibs to qualifiers who miss the cutoff. Notifications early October.
