I am saddened by the news that a @DallasPD Officer was killed and two others injured in an overnight shooting. Prayers for my brothers and sisters of DPD, the officer's families, and our North Texas area for having to mourn the loss of a police officer yet again. ππΌ π
Yesterday, the Irving Police Department marched to honor the memory of IPD and Texas fallen officers. Many men and women have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their communities, and to keep their memory alive is a small but significant gesture that we take immense pride in.

@cooktx@ArlingtonPD One of the most impactful programs one can participate in in their career is to honor a fallen brother or sister and show their family the respect and honor their hero deserves. I Served proudly on @IrvingPD HG for 19 years. Well done! ππΌ
Thank you, @IrvingPD, for all the wonderful memories. I leave with a full heart and no regrets. The best police department in the country. π«ΆπΌβ₯οΈ
Today, we held a retirement ceremony for @IrvingPDPIO, who has served the @thecityofirving for just over 20 yrs. You may recognize him because, most recently, he served as the department's PIO & has been the face of the department since 2019, but heβs been much more than that!1/3
@cooktx@TimCiesco@IrvingPD@ArlingtonPD Thank you, Chief! Completely understand. Enjoy that family time. I appreciate all the training and mentoring over the years.
23 years ago, Irving Officer Aubrey Hawkins was brutally murdered when he responded to a suspicious circumstance call at the Oshman's Sporting Goods here in Irving. 7 escaped convicts were in the midst of committing an aggravated robbery & ambushed Officer Hawkins⦠1/2
Well, itβs time to announceβ¦my retirement! After 20 years of service, I will be retiring from @IrvingPD in January. Time truly flew by! I have been blessed with a new opportunity, and I will start that new chapter next year.

Chief for the Day!
Chief Mecai wasn't shy at all. He's a natural leader and wants to be a police officer when he grows up, and by the looks of it - he's ready for the job. #DallasPD
As we hear the news coming in about the Tarrant County Sheriff Deputy who was shot today, the Irving Police Department sends our prayers to the Officer, his family, and the @tarrantcountyso π
We played "rapid fire" with our officers, and if you think Thanksgiving is all about turkey and football...
You have a few new best friends.

Our department mourns the loss of the @Austin_Police Officer today, who was killed in the line of duty. We are praying for a speedy recovery of the second officer injured. All officers across our state and country face unknown risks when they go to work and answer any call. 1/2
