Sudan Doctors Network: Three Civilians Killed, Others Injured in UAE-Backed Rapid Support Militia Drone Strike on Dilling Market

Three civilians were killed and others injured on Friday evening when a drone operated by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Militia struck the main market in Dilling, South Kordofan, according to the Sudan Doctors Network.

The drone also targeted trucks at the entrance to the city carrying food and consumer goods to Dilling market. The attack threatens the flow of essential supplies and compounds the severe humanitarian conditions facing residents across the area.

The strike comes amid the militia’s escalating use of drones across Sudan. A growing body of international investigations and documented evidence has traced flows of weapons, drones and operational expertise to the militia through networks linked to the UAE, including the recruitment of foreign drone operators. This support has strengthened the militia’s capacity to launch long-range attacks against cities, markets and civilian infrastructure.

The Sudan Doctors Network condemned attacks on markets, civilian gathering places, vehicles and trucks carrying food and other basic goods. It said such attacks violate international humanitarian law and pose a direct threat to civilian lives.

The Network called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organisations to act urgently to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, and to exert meaningful pressure on the Rapid Support Militia to end its attacks on markets, public facilities, civilian vehicles and food supplies.
