@RetroSetJoe This is my response too… so many games in my backlog, shelves of physical! And even if AAA studios are screwed, the indie scene is alive and well. So many cool games, so much more innovation.
@NSuperGamerGuy Unfortunately, it is the future whether we like it or not. It’s like the beginning of the Industrial Revolution… those with money could invest in these new technologies (coal, etc) that advanced technology very fast. The side effects aren’t all good, but it isn’t going to stop.
Well, it finally showed up! Still need to find time to open and test it out.
Thankfully @LimitedRunGames packed it well and it showed up in good condition. Not quite a year wait… but almost 😅 #retrogaming
@Owennfa I am not playing GTA6, could care less TBH. But, no one asked your opinion of what we all do with our time off. I can only assume that every single day of PTO you take, you have some massively epic and meaningful day planned? No lounging around and relaxing however you see fit?
@msimoni They need a lot of instruction and context still to not produce what you talk about. They will typically, in absence of detail, take the literal shortest path to accomplish whatever vague prompt you provide. The devil is in the details.
@ElijaWinter@warrior_pcmr I run AM4 + 9060xt on an ultrawide 5120x1440 monitor and it is glorious on all the latest games! AM5 is nice, but still plenty of life on the previous if you are trying to be cost conscious.
Fisher-Price accidentally made the ultimate gaming controller. I just unlocked it. 💀🎮
I turned a literal baby toy into a fully functional Nintendo Switch 2 controller using a Nordic nRF52840 to emulate a Switch 2 Pro Controller over Bluetooth LE.
Yes, you can actually game with this thing. 🍼🔥
@robtanner84@JMW_BOYZ You can auto update drivers or leave it until you are ready. I haven’t updated my driver in like 6 months… it was already stable, so no need. When I have free time and want to, I can click the update button and wait 10-15 minutes for it to download and update, then restart.
The beauty of it all is we can keep doing it the way we want.
My grandpa was a linotypist… I wish he was alive to tell me how he felt when his profession became obsolete.
Recently attended an in-person handheld game console hackathon. I wrote a raycaster by hand. Someone wearing a “I ❤️ slop” tshirt saw mine and said “oh I wrote a ray caster too!”. They showed me. It was a ray *tracer* and claude did all the work. The person didn’t know basic graphics terms. They couldn’t answer basic questions about how it worked, could only talk about their prompting harness. Sad how AI is ruining the craft and community for people that actually like to program and have spent their lives getting good at it.
@BrokenGamezHDR_ Same can be said about consoles too. PS5s with thermal paste issues, Xbox with RRD, Switch controllers with so much drift you can’t use the controller… and that is just hardware. They have software issues too.
I disagree. Consistently with new releases, my friends on PC are dealing with constantly having to rebuild shaders or crashes or windows updates breaking things.
It's why I only bother to do PC gaming for experiences I wish to mod amd stick to my console for 95% of the time.
