Getting to experience all of them is kinda fun
There was snap on at one point, but getting a tool truck out here is a pain for being in the middle of nowhere.
I like we have almost all makes of cordless tool lines at work. So far it’s been Dewalt, Milwaukee, Hitachi, Rigid, Makita and now Hercules. With some low volt Ryobi stuff sprinkled in. Not one manufacturer makes everything so we branch out and get what we need from each brand.
@RezRappy Oooo still sweet though! Also same here, but the only downside is the gentleman that does a full disassembly CLA has a fully booked queue at the moment. 😅
The other pick up from that antiquing side quest. A Yashica Mat 124 G! Super grimy and filthy when I first got it. Surprised how well it came back around with some cleaning and leather conditioner. Swapped in a new 625A and the meter functioned and appears accurate!!
@RatShattered It was testing me for sure lmao. Glad it’s the toaster coil element speed control system and not the solid state one, that one apparently has more wires coming out of it.
I realized I didn’t need the fuse holder. Whoever worked on this before really threw me for a loop. Not only did they wire the 12V circuit to 18V, they had a fuse for both + & - 😅 Fixed all that nonsense. Now it’s ready for my neighbor. 🤣
Last post on this thing I swear LOL. This little electrical problem on wheels made me realize, that I shouldn’t work on stuff like this while fatigued. I almost repeated the same BS the last guy who worked on it did. Thankfully I went back and fixed it all proper now. 😅
I was SOO close to cutting the wire when I realized, “Hey wait, what the fuck, why do both sides have fuses for??” It’s just the lights and horn on the same 12V circuit, there’s not even a cigarette lighter, WHY DOS??
@TheBowUnicorn1 Thank you ^^ They’re pretty darn rare. I bought mine off a collector friend. There’s 3 models in this series and mine is the last one in that series with the convex housing. The first 2 were more barrel shaped.
@TheBowUnicorn1 Yes! I keep a few bottles around for my fans and sleeve bearing vacs. :3 It does right? 🤣 It was actually spared from being thrown out because the previous owner thought it was cute. When I got it, it wasn’t running, cord had a break near the motor base. Works great now ^^
@TheBowUnicorn1 Lovely machine!! Straight suction unit is pretty handy in a shop setting. I have a few pics that shows some of my collection over the years. A couple of oddball and rare ones, but the Constellation series is one of my top favorites!
@TheBowUnicorn1 It’s a model I’ve been after, but they’re like crazy expensive on eBay. 😅I have the Constellation model 444 as well, which is just a big floating orange 🍊:)
Got the Western Golf and Country ready to go. Ignore the jank fuse holder. It’s temporary until the new one comes in. 😅 Previously wired up for 24V, fixed it to where she gets all the 36V juice now. Fixed the lights and the horn as well. Should be leaving this weekend. :)
