The map rotation will be updated again on Jan 7 to include Olympus, E-District, and World's Edge.
Zach LaVine does not make the Nuggets contenders. This trade makes the Nuggets a team that will avoid the play in, but the only way this trade works is if Michael Porter Jr is in the deal. The addition of Zach LaVine does not improve their defense, rebounding, or shooting given the height and long term three point percentage of Michael Porter Jr. The benefit to this trade is since Jamal Murray has not looked like himself recently the Nuggets will now have a true second option to pair with Jokic and someone to help keep the offense around league average while he is on the bench, which has been an issue for the Nuggets in recent years. Zach LaVines ability to cut and Jokic’s ability to deliver any pass makes this an ideal destination for LaVine, this two man game could be spectacular. The Nuggets would be better, but this does not raise their ceiling, only their floor. The Nuggets roster has a lot of issues, most importantly depth which Zach LaVine does not help and he has an injury history, but he has looked great so far this season so that is not a deal breaker. This trade should be made in order to refresh the team, this starting 5 is just not enough to compete in the west. I believe that this trade would benefit the Nuggets, but additional moves to improve the depth and shooting of the team would have to be made in order for Denver to once again become a contender.

The Celtics depth chart was the glaring weakness of the team going into last season after trading beloved home grown role players for all star talent. The emergence of Celtics Guard Payton Pritchard and the steady shooting of forward Sam Hauser were the X factors in the Celtics dominant playoff run. This consistent three point shooting, scoring, and commitment to defense off of the bench has made the Celtics offense a well oiled machine. The development of Pritchard and Hauser provides coach Joe Mazzulla with a rock solid 8-9 man rotation he can trust with no real weakness opposing teams can attack. #Celtics #Pritchard #Hauser #NBA
The Thunder have impressed many NBA fans this year by living up to high expectations this season, even after Chet Holmgren’s injury. Still I believe that the Thunder are a year or two away from true contention. They are too inexperienced to compete with the top teams in the NBA such as the Mavericks as seen in last years playoffs. Even if the Thunder can make it through the deep western conference they would have to play the power houses out East who also have more playoff experience, such as the Celtics, Cavaliers, and the Bucks. This inexperience showed itself last night when the veteran led Bucks eliminated the OKC Thunder in order to win the NBA Cup. The talent is undeniable but Shai, Chet, and Jalen Williams are still very young, there is no doubt though that the future is bright in Oklahoma City.

If the Nuggets or Suns make a trade for Jimmy Butler, they are the new favorite to come out of the west. Butler as a 2nd or 3rd option is a scary thought for opposing teams in a potential playoff series.

The numbers don’t tell the full story, but I believe Steph Curry is the best point guard in the NBA. At 36 years old Curry is shooting 42% from three and 50% from two point range. Steph is efficient, plays 4 less minutes a game than SGA, and is winning with a worse surrounding cast. Both players are incredible, but Steph has shown year after year he is the best PG in the NBA.

A Tale of Two Seasons: The Chicago Bears were seconds away from being 5-2 on the year when Jayden Daniels completed a miraculous Hail Mary with no time on the clock. Since this game in late October the bears have lost 7 straight games resulting in a 4-10 record while the Commanders have had a stellar year far surpassing expectations. Washington currently has a 9-5 record and an 87% chance of making the playoffs heading into week 16, while the Bears are eliminated from playoff contention. After a promising start to the Bears season and Caleb Williams rookie campaign, the remainder of the season has not been kind to them. During this rough stretch for the Chicago Bears Washington’s Jayden Daniels has continued his stellar play and solidified himself as the lead candidate for OROY.
