@HavryshkoMarta I live in an European country, don't know how things are in the US, but tbh the Ukrainians I personally know are all in favor of negotiations.
The "no-capitulation" people here are either non-Ukrainians playing heroes with someone else's lives or few Ukrainians who work as PR.
@leftypol_org This chart is pretty interesting, it shows what Italian public opinion looks like and how voters from different parties lean. According to the poll, Italians in general are pretty pro-Palestinian and pro-Ukrainian.

@storyevtime Very true. Lot of Israelis, when they're abroad, are strongly defensive of their country. You see a similar pattern with many Azeris and Armenians, if u talk about their disputes..neutrality isn't acceptable to them, they want you on their side, otherwise they don't take it well.
@rochowanski Well, actually it's not even the way Merz describes it. The point is: if I'm the one financing your war, I decide how and when to stop. You can keep going, but without me. So yes, you have agency but only up to a certain point if you depend on me. That's how it works.
@HavryshkoMarta This is westplaining in its purest form. Sincere compliments to your son for his patience, it must not have been easy to stay calm in front of that kind of lecture.
@leonidragozin This is why I'm always surprised when people ask why the political left is so lukewarm about Ukraine. I empathize with Ukrainians, I'm against the Russian invasion, but why on earth should I support this clown and the bs he says?
@pati_marins64 Good point, but when you talk about European citizens, you're mixing up ordinary people with politicians or the crazy folks here on X. That's not reality. Most people have lost interest in the conflict, want it to end and are definitely not in some "trance" supporting Zelensky.
@tothcsabatibor Genuine question: I know Orban is losing support mainly for domestic political reasons, but how does the opposition position itself to counter campaigns like this? Do they just say "Okay, well, we are the pro-war side" ? I doubt It.
@leonidragozin Pretty creepy guy and the unfortunate reality is that both sides have people like him as you rightly pointed out with Butusov. War strips away restraint and gives people like this room to act on them.
