RAF bomber command’s mass area strategic bombing raids of German cities while somewhat successful, were insignificant when compared to the 8th and 9th Air Forces’ precision strategic bombing raids targeting transportation infrastructure. This is what actually defeated NS Germany via inducing strategic paralysis, not the mass slaughter of innocent German civilians.

The Germans were also able to easily rebuild their industrial sectors, which is why 1944 was when Germany reached peak fighter production thanks to the efforts of Erhard Milch.

Not to mention that due to special aviation units like Wilde Sau and Zahme Sau, RAF bomber command was almost brought to the brink of collapse, losing hundreds of bombers and thousands of men. There were even certain raids where they lost over 100 bombers a night.

And if your metric for “success” is killing German civilians:

RAF Bomber Command’s early mass area raids (specifically Operation Gomorrah) are what finally unified the Luftwaffe and were a failure from a point of British strategic doctrine, only galvanizing the population against the allies, rather than inciting a revolution. Not to mention that it divided efforts inside of Allied high command, as the Americans were opposed to these raids on the basis that they A) went against American doctrine B) were considered to be morally reprehensible.
