@JoeBenoi@Fly_Sistah@mmpadellan@repmorgan We bear responsibility for ending systemic racism because it’s still with us. Injustice damages the whole system. White people: Instead of saying “It’s not my fault people are suffering; I didn’t start it,” how about learning from history and doing our part to stop it.
@repmorgan@BrandonPotterRI@JoshuaJGiraldo Except black folks ARE being judged based on skin color every day, to their detriment. Countless studies show: by nearly every measure people of color are disadvantaged - in heath care, education, law enforcement, economics. We can’t fix it if we can’t name it.
@reverendmolly@sqpt Challenge with that second part is giving the naysayer a platform. Instead, I’d love leaders to be dole to say: “here is what we stand for. Here how the pastor is part of that. And if you see genuine ways that the pastor could be pursuing our shared vision more effectively…
As holy work remains, continues, and begins
WE will do it
In grace and imperfection
Still united and uniting
Joining the movement
Which begins in you
And was, is, and will be
Rooted in love.
AMEN!
